Stepping over the threshold, Albert took a second to pause and take in the moment.

“Ah! Sickbay! Mute witness to the whole gamut of emotion and indeed life itself! From birth to death and everything in-between!” The stares he was receiving from the medical staff and patients made Albert swiftly realise that this had been an inopportune moment to declare his thoughts and observations out loud. Tricky thing to master, Internal versus External monologue. So many different rules to remember!

“Er yes,” He pretended to consult the PaDD in his hand, a very useful prop. “Would anyone present be able to assist me with a boarding medical evaluation?”

Evrilla blinked faintly at the man, then smiled and stepped forward. “Of course. I am Dr. Evrilla, the CMO. Please, come over to bed 3.” She grabbed her own PaDD off the intake desk, sharing a shrug with the nurse. Patients weren’t usually so boisterous, but she would hardly complain.
