Mardusk laughed and said “Ohhhh noooo… you say karma bit you, you hafta say why. Thats the rules. So say it.” and he grinned at her. A large leg settled against the outside of hers and moved gently back and forth.Mardusk
Cara looked down at his leg, did he think she was going to run? She might…but not the way he was thinking. She grinned slightly, “Ya inhaled a cheeseburger and choked ‘cause I shocked ya with one of my…what did ya call it?…leadin’ statements. Karma thought it’d be funny if I choked on cake ‘cause I got shocked by one a yers.” She was looking at him, and felt all kinds of…did she take her meds? Yes she did she was due tonight....but she felt…oh yeah, she was in trouble.
O’Farrell
Mardusk smiled at her.
“Let’s get outta here. I’ll show you the magic and then you can get some sleep. You’ll need it dealing with that issue and a 2300 appointment.” and he stood up. “Follow me… for your own sake.” and he smiled and winked at her.
He led her back to their quarters and said “If you want to change outta your uniform, it’s fine by me. I’ll be 8n my place getting things ready.” and he walked into his quarters.

The walk back to their quarters made Cara want to giggle. At this point there was a noticable difference in her environment....other than Gravel she didn’t see one other security officer. Usually they were everywhere. She correctly guessed Royo and Shan had something to do with that. She and Gravel didn’t even pass a patrol. Which the timing would have to be right, but where were her ever present shadows? She walked into her quarters, into the bedroom, sat down and began to laugh. Apparently they were all told who she was with.
She changed into a pair of soft, worn black jean shorts and a Kelly green t-shirt with gold and green glitter letters that read: “Green Eyed Red Head Will Shake You to Your Soul.” She slipped on flat black pumps and then sat down on the bed. Suddenly feeling the need to wonder if they needed to pump the breaks a bit. Cara reached for her brush and brushed the knots and tangles of the day out. She allowed herself the moment. She fiddled with the ring, no, she was certain. She hopped up smiling, left her quarters, turned right and to his door pressing the chime.

The door slid open before her fingers reached the panel. Inside was dimly lit, and the sounds of a guitar being tuned could be heard. “C’mon in. You ready for some magic, gorgeous? Have a seat.” said the low rumble of Gravel’s voice from the far corner by the windows.
Gravel was seated on the massive overstuffed couch under the windows, but the room so dim he was hard to make out as anything other than big. He plucked the bass and made adjustments until he was satisfied with it.

Cara stepped through the door and paused as it slid shut behind her and immersed her in near darkness, before her eyes adjusted. She didn’t say anything but her eyes tracked the sound of his voice across the room. With a grin she made her way over to the opposite end of the massive over stuffed couch. She didn’t even bother to properly sit, she just curled up on it, legs folded and tucked underneath her, nestled into the large cushions. “Oh yeah....I’m ready, cast your spell, Gravel,” her voice was soft in dim light, softly teasing, and totally serious.

In the dark e smiled and hit a command PaDD. A single light fell only on the bass, and he began to play. A new voice sounded from the room, a man’s voice, deep and resounding.

Cara watched as he began to play, following the movement of his hands over the instrument. Cara had listened to a lot of talented muscians over the years, and so she was immediately enthralled by his playing. But then the voice started, and she listened to the lyrics and bit her lower lip to stop from laughing, too hard. Her eyes danced as she looked in the general area of his face, but she couldn’t see his features. He kept playing and she kept listening....
When the song was over, from as close as she could get with the guitar in the way came her voice, “Yeah? I think I need ta get closer then…”

Gravel moved the bass and pulled her to him. “Anytime you want. As close as you want.” and he kissed her, reaching up and turning off the single light.
