Sometimes a Lunch Break Works Wonders
“Ok. I’ll get a statement from them as well for the report and then we will wait for your assessment and go from there.” He looked back at her and said “Why don’t you do your talk with the medic, I’ll get the report almost done and get the medic’s statement, and then you and I can go to lunch?”
Mardusk, COS
“Sounds good ta me. I missed breakfast this mornin’. I canna imagine why I did that.” She shot him a grin before she walked out of his office, through the outer security office and into the corridor.
O’Farrell, CNS
Mardusk grinned and yelled out the door “Royo! Escort the Doc back to Sickbay! She’ll end up in the warp core if we don’t watch her!” and the door slid closed.
=/\=O’Farrell to medical. Where is the medic who was injured during the altercation in Sickbay 3 this mornin’?=/\= There was a pause and then=/\=He was taken to Sickbay 1. We are about to discharge him. Do you want us to have him wait?=/\= =/\=Yes please. I’ll be there momentarily=/\= There was a soft chuckle from the other end of the com, shortly was flexible when it came to O’Farrel, and then the sound cut off. Cara chuckled and shook her head as the JO jogged up to her. “Royo is it? Just point me towards tubolift 2 and I’ll be fine. Puts me right between Sickbay 1 and 2.”
Royo eyed O’Farrell skeptically. Having heard the conversation, he asked, “And is Sickbay 1 to Port or Starboard when you get off the lift, Lt?” He shook his head, “It doesn’t matter, chief will have my hide if I let you go alone. So come on, I’ve got orders.”
Cara felt bad for Royo. He got stuck with her. She’d gone to sickbay and talked to the medic, Hnalk. He was fine. He said he felt bad for Potlier. Hnalk knew he shouldn’t have been standing so close after the kind of physical shock Potlier had received, he just hadn’t considered it. The conversation hadn’t taken long and she’d let Hnalk know that Lt Cmdr Mardusk wanted to get a statement from him as well. When she’d turned to leave Royo was still there. Rather than protesting and upsetting the poor lad, she let him walk her back to her office. She’d tried to make him leave. He had decided to stay to walk her back to sickbay later, but he was making people uneasy. No one wanted to come to the counseling suite and see security on watch. Until Yvonne opened her mouth and explained he was there to escort Lt. O’Farrell whereever she needed to go. Everyone got a good laugh out of that.
After checking on Potlier (Cara and the on duty doctor had decided to keep him sedated for a bit, since he woke up still in the midst of a severe panic attack) Cara insisted Royo leave. “Now look here, Lad. I’m not goin’ back ta sickbay till much later. The LCARS panels will do me just fine. I promise if I need ya or anyone else from security I’ll tell ya. Go…go patrol the deck or somethin’.” He meant well…she knew that, but it was one of those days....that ended in her bein’ cranky. And Cara really didn’t want to take it out on the innocent security officer.
A few hours later, Gravel finished up the report and tapped his desk interface. =/\= Computer, current location of the Counselor? =/\= There was a chirp and the computer replied =/\= Lt. O’Farrell is in her office. =/\= Mardusk stood up and made his way to the turbolift and to the Counseling Suite. Walking in, he said “Heya. Here to see the Doc when she’s free.”
Mardusk
Royo was coming back around past the counseling suite and nodded to Mardusk as he passed. Yvonne looked up from the desk. “She’s free chief. You can go on in.”
The hours had dragged by and flown at the same time. As the door opened he would hear, “That cheeky green sidhe! Lovey-dovey my arse,” and laughter. The office hadn’t changed much. There were more shades of green present and blues, added to the greens, browns, and oranges. The collection of furniture was the same - different types of chairs and a large reinforced couch. But most noticeable was desk set caddy-corner to the wall to the left of the door. Cara looked up as the door opened, her eyes lit up when she saw him and then confusion. “Is it lunch already?”
