Huh? She blinked. Oh she really stuck her foot in it…ugh....she hated space travel her mind half on talking to the man and the other half on not hurling all over him. She was not going to get sick… “Oh that came out wrong, I’m so sor…” the tone of voice would say she was sincere but she didn’t finish whatever she was saying. She made it to the bathroom just before her stomach decided to expel the only thing in it – ginger soda.

The door had slid closed just before her stomach rebelled. But a few minutes later, it slid open and a familiar voice said “Hey? You ok? Can I come in?”

“Uhhhggggghhhh, not sure ya want ta, but sure,” came the reply from the other room. Cara started to pull herself up, thought better of it and just sat on the cool tile of the floor, head against the wall. She heard the heavy foot falls and would have gladly disappeared into the floor. “I am so sorry. I didna mean that the way it sounded.”

There were no words as two massive yet gentle hands picked her up as if she weighed nothing and slowly carried her into the living room, setting her on a crate.

“Hold still.” Mardusk said and he pressed something against her neck and there was a soft pop followed by the hiss of a hypospray. “And don’t freak out. I had Medical check your record before they dialed the dosage in. Doc said you’ll feel fine in about thirty seconds.”

Mardusk settled himself on another crate and crossed his arms across his particularly wide chest. “So you asked me a question a bit ago. A crappy question, but I’m gonna chalk that up to you trying not to heave your guts all over the floor. The answer to that question is yeah… Im offerin’ just because. And if you need to give me an eval just to see if I’m telling ya the truth or not, go for it. Pretty clinical way to start things off though, if you ask me.”
