“Depends on who you are, I suppose,” Faye said, her tone taking on a tiny bit of bitterness. She shifted her gaze to Memphis. “My assumption is at this point that I do what I’m told to. If I can be useful, great. Doesn’t mean I have to like it.”

Memphis shrugged, “Liking it helps, willingness comes a close second though. I will run it up the chain if you want, I have a few well connected friends on the yellow deck.” Memphis stated referring to intel operations directorate. Took a sip of his drink, and grinned at her.

Frank trundles in with an exhausted demeanor. He found a seat at the bar that was closest to the doors. Frank ordered a 80 proof whiskey. He watched closely as the bartender poured it into a crystal clear glass.

“Hmmm, that’s dangerous,” Faye said before also taking a sip of her drink. “But sure, go ahead, see what they say. See if they laugh first, that would be telling,” she said with raised eyebrows and a slight smirk.

Memphis looked across at Faye and grinned, “Worth it to make the call, and see the reactions at the very least. Sometimes it is just fun to rock the boat. Yanno what I mean?” Memphis finished up the drink that he had in his hand and leaned back in his seat watching the room, and his company at the same time. It was an odd split perspective but one that you learn over the years of needing to do such things.

Calloway nodded her head. “I do. Do tell me if I garner anything more then a slight huff though. It might make my day,” she said, downing more of her drink.
