She would see the Doc in a few hours, but in the meanwhile, Karina headed for the Counselor. The last few weeks had been unsettling for the most part, and completely terrifying for the rest. Probably for the first time since joining the ship, it was all coming to a head. Perhaps just offloading it would be sufficient. That was all she needed. Surely just letting it all out, from the acid creatures to the loss of the Athena on her most recent return, would purge her mind of the issues and let her go back to restful sleep that didn’t involve waking up in the middle of the night terrified and disoriented more than usual.

She tapped the chime on the door and realized that without an appointment, she was playing against Fate on whether the Heleen woman would be available. Karina hadn’t gotten to know her very well, so perhaps this was a good time for them both.

Stark opened the door to usher her into Reception. “Welcome to my second home,” he said breezily ignoring Cherry Blossom’s attempt at a Risian glare from behind the reception desk.

Karina was more than obviously surprised. “Night…Sir! I… ummm….” She stepped into the accepting area and frowned. “I was coming to see the Counselor. Forgive me if I am in the wrong place or at the wrong time.” She was obviously confused. “Though I am immensely glad you came thru the wormhole intact.” She smiled slightly but still looked around a bit more confused than usual.

Stark grinned showing more than a little canine in doing so, “You’re not in the wrong place Karina, Cherry Blossom here would argue that I’m in the wrong place although secretly I think she’s exaggerating her annoyance at my being in the counselor’s waiting room all the time. I’m sure one of the counselors will be along shortly. In the meantime, how has life been treating you?”
