Cara looked at the purple strand a moment in confusion and then leaned down to hear what the woman was saying. It sounded as if there was another woman out there. She looked at Dr. Grey and back to the woman as she gave her more pain medication. Cara ran another scan to match for DNA and species to make sure she what she was dealing with.
“Who is Meridyth? Was she with your group,” Cara asked . When the woman looked in pain agan she took her hand, “we have rescue teams all around, don’t worry we’ll find her,” Cara assured the woman not wanting the woman to be any more anxious than she already was. Cara then turned and looked to Dr. Grey, if this other woman could help then maybe she should go find her before it’s too late.
“What do you want me to do sir, medication isn’t working, but if we wait much longer to take that arm she’ll die. I think we need to find this Meridyth woman I have a feeling it’s important,” Cara asked awaiting her orders.Ensign Cara Daniels-Doctor
Others were coming in with similar wounds, even those with a scratch from one of the purple beams of the enemy were starting to feel the effects of the necrotic poison. People were being stoic but the smell of fear was in the air along with the acrid stench of rotting flesh.
The DNA scan on the woman found no on file records of a match. The eyes of the woman looked up imploringly at Cara as she struggled to speak, “Meridyth, twins…” she slumped back again unconscious.

“Laser scalpel, we need to start removing the dying flesh before it contanimates the rest of her body, keep her under as I start cutting” He quickly prepared himself for surgery, if this worked he’d have a working procedure for the rest of the crew.

Karina wandered into the triage camp and asked around till she found the Doc. With a small dried blood smear on her forehead over a small cut, now sealed by dirt and blood and hair, she took an offered container of water as an Ensign walked by and found the doctor cleaning up. “The Captain has taken several to see to some mission. I was sent here. What can I do?” She handed him a towel and then the water, certain he hadn’t had any in some time, either. A smile lighting her lips as she finished, “Since I’m pretty sure offering to cover you while you get some rest is probably out of the question, huh?” She smiled softly at him and waited to be directed to how to help best.

Doctor“Lieuetentand Madison, you and your team are tasked with studying the Gaurdian itself while we can. Dr. Grey prepare for more wounded we are under attack, I am headed there now.” adam stated as he turned to walk on. There was nothing more that he could here wait, “Merideth is the purple haired lady near the Gaurdian.
Commander Adam Chryst, Executive Officer USS Athena NCC 17819-D
Benjamin had mostly been ignoring the commander until he mentioned the second Merideth. He looked for a moment but still continued the surgery.
OOC: I’ll move my next reply to the right thread with Liam arriving. Also, sorry for Liam being bitter but it should get better soon. I hope.
IC: Liam’s mouth corner twitched, but he refrained from commenting. While the task’s motivation was given clearly, the purpose or task’s details were still pretty vague. He wasn’t happy about that. At this point, his desire to feel useful gnawed at him. As much as he wanted to point out he had not been very useful so far, he couldn’t disobey an order. Even in this confusing mess.
“I’m sure this will end well, just like the last attempt to help,” Liam let his opinion slip out freely, following the XO to the location.
He was sure Officer Jones was going to be among the first to arrive. He couldn’t say the same about Joseph, his mind concerned for his nephew’s well-being. Joseph hadn’t been among the injured, but he also hadn’t been found. He hoped his relative was safe and not caught in the ship’s explosion.

Merydith lay near unconscious on the ground in the triage area still moaning quietly asking for her sister. The ensign that had objected to her being brought into the area was still watching her suspiciously. Muttering under his breath he spoke, “It isn’t right to waste the doctor’s time with one who isn’t our own”.
All around there were people trying to fight off the effects of the necrotic poison. An orderly called out to anyone listening. “There’s a security guard here who’s been hit bad in the gut, but the poison isn’t spreading!”.
Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)
((OOC… “Merideth is … near Guardian” and “Merydith is … on floor of triage”… are there 2, or is there a mistype somewhere?… trying to figure out who to respond to… Meli))
OOC There are two of them, twin shape shifters, so both of your statements are correct. The Merydith who is dying at Triage is asking for her twin sister (Meridyth) who is presently at the Guardian of Forever. You can beat me later for being too obtuse :-)
Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)“Nials and Daniels, assist with the other injuries. Someone go fetch this second Meredith and bring her to me now” Ben called out. His voice was firm and loud but not aggressive. He didn’t really have time to wait for others to react.
CMO
Nials and Daniels reacted immediately using everything they could get their hands on to create tourniquets to slow the poison spreading through their patients. One of them pointed to a subordinate who took a look at Merydith and went off in search of her sister. The messenger returned with a concerned purple haired Meridyth in tow. Side by side you could see the similarities and differences between them. Although they weren’t identical it was immediately obvious that they were twins. Meridyth knelt beside her stricken sister worry creasing her brow. She didn’t hesitate but turned to Benjamin and spoke earnestly, “Please, make sure no-one touches us for at least the next five minutes”, her eyes were pleading, “There’s no time to explain”.
Ben backed off and looked at the woman with an odd look. He wasn’t overly fond of shapeshifters, made for one hell of an annoying medical marvel.
She turned to her sister and laid atop her quickly, slowly shapeshifting she began the laborious process of melding and combining with her sister’s body in an attempt to stave off the poison together.
An orderly appeared next to the CMO with hope dancing in her eyes. “Sir there’s a security guard here who’s been hit in the gut but the necrotic poison isn’t spreading. He’s Andorian sir, I wondered if it might be significant”.
Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)
Ben nodded for the NE to lead the way. As soon as he joined the Andorian he fell on his knee and started scanning. He started gathering all of his information on Andorian physiology he had in his mind as he scanned. He hoped that the answer to this poison lay within those memories and these scans.
Dr. Grey CMO
Cara watched the shapeshifting with furrowed brows. She never seen one before and to watch her shift and join with her sister was…beautiful. She only hoped it was enough to help them both survive. There was very little time for gawking, so she laid two new victims of the poison on plastic beds close to the sisters so they could be treated together quickly when the found the antidote.
“It’s going to be alright, we’re looking for a treatment as we speak. Dr. Grey is the best,” Cara told the blond ensign and her cowokers who worked security. They looked to be in rough shape as she held off the poison with antibiotics as they waited for the results. She used gauze and pressure on the wounds as she waited for the hypospray of blood clotting medication to work. Cara looked over at Dr. Grey hoping to learn something from his scans to save these people.Ensign Doctor Cara Daniels
The scan came back as normal for an Andorian apart from the fact that this Andorian was inebriated. His breath was sweet with the smell of Andorian Ale and he had obviously imbibed a fair bit of it before the crisis had hit and he’d been brought back onto active duty.
There was only one Meryidiyth now and her breathing had become shallow but stable.
The blond ensign Cara was working on was slipping in and out of consciousness, three patients had succumbed to heart failure already but slowing the spread of the poison was helping buy time.
At this point something new arrived, a young security officer with bright red hair who had succumbed to blunt force trauma to the head and chest. There were round welts on his body and his ribs we’re crushed to the point that his left lung had collapsed.
Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)
Karina watched as the buzz around her made her feel invisible. The CMO had taken the towel from her hand, barked his orders and walked off without so much as a nod. The twins melding into and out of one another made her realize how insufficient her medical knowledge was of alien species.
As the new casualty arrived and was set on a pallet of blankets behind the currently bustling crowd, she shook her head. “Well, guess I will make good of myself,” she murmured and moved over to the man. She made a quick assessment and nodded to a couple NEs nearby looking as lost as she felt. “You two… one go see if you can find a couple bottles of water. The other find me a bioscanner. I am sure there are some that survived the crashes.”
As the NEs scurried off to do her barked bidding, she stroked back the hair of the unconscious man on the pallet. “Stay with me…” she stroked her hand over his forehead to push the hair back then started using a bottle of water a passing NE offered her to begin washing off his obvious wounds to see what else she could take care of. “What happened to you?” She half whispered as if the man would actually answer her.

Doctor“Alien…” was all he could get out from around his injuries, “fast”. He slipped unconscious again. The bio scanner picked up the partially collapsed lung and also bio matter in the wounds. Alien bio matter.
Benjamin looked at the results of the scan “Alchohol?” He said out loud in a curious tone. He looked up at the now singular Meredith person as he could smell them merging, or well one disappearing. He looked back down at the Andorian “This is going to be a fun prescription” He said to himself as he looked up “We’re going to try something, first appearances show that Alchohol in the blood is stopping the spread of whatever Poison they are infected with. Small injections of whatever medicinal alcohol we have should have a positive effect” He ordered those working on those injured. He saw the new arrival “Doctor Niles I need assistance here” he looked at the young Doctor “Daniels take charge of the Alchohol Distribution.” He immediately switched to fresh surgical gloves as he dropped next to the injured Securirty officer and started a scan.
Dr. Grey - CMO
Daniels hopped to it and started preparing some of the most unusual hypo’s in Starfleet history. A shot into the bloodstream for surface wounds stopped the spread of the poison almost instantaneously but those who had the poison deeper in their systems were going to need a faster way to get the alcohol through the blood stream.
((OOC:… with all due respect, but nearly my whole post from Karina was in response to and dealing with the fallen security officer. She is already there and already working on him… Meli))
OOC: Well with all due respect I apologize, I completely misread that.

Karina was grateful for the Doc’s attention, but it seemed as if Grey was on autopilot. As she had turned for another bottle of water, the Doc had called her as if she wasn’t even there. “I’m right here, Sir,” she said softly as she shifted on the balls of her feet to try and keep from kneeling completely so she could move as needed. She was used to it. Since arriving on the ship, she seemed to be either invisible or treated like she was capable of doing the work of four people. It didn’t really bother her anymore. The Doc seemed to be one of those who did his thing with such efficiency and single mindedness that he spoke as he always did and in the same volume. The patient was the most important thing to him and those around him were merely extensions of the instruments around him.
She handed a fresh wet cloth to the CMO and put the usual soft smile of efficiency and willingness to serve on her face. “What do you need?” She knew he would tell her what he needed as he needed it. But sometimes it was nice to remind him there were others around, as well.

DoctorAt this point the red headed ensign started to cough up some blood from the partially collapsed lung.
Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)
“Easy… easy,” she stroked the Ensign’s hair and help tip him slightly to keep him from swallowing more of the blood than he had to. Looking up at the Doc, she shook her head. “We need to get his lung drained. Tell me what you need from me.” She was good enough at her job that ‘worse case scenario’, had no one been around, she would have made a small cut, inserted a tube and let the blood drain from his lung. Best case, science had the ability to help in ways scalpels and hands couldn’t. But out here, with the Doc before her, she had the feeling there was something better that could be done for the Ensign. She just wasn’t sure ‘what’.
Ens Karina Niles
Doctor
“We’re going to need to drain his lung since we don’t have a biobed we’re going to need a suction device” He opened his medpack and started searching “We’re going to faction a chest tube and insert it, releasing the air from the lung allowing him to breath” He explained as he modified a device for suctioning “Please make the initial incision” He said as he prepared the device itself.
