It hadn’t taken long after Viyara had arrived on the Starbase for her to find out that the ship she was supposed to board was not there. After a quick tête-à-tête with the quartermaster, she had dropped her belongings off at her new quarters and changed out of her uniform. She put on a short, black pleated skirt; a snugly fitting, dark purple shirt with shot, lacy sleeves; and a pair of black, strappy high-heels. Her Hair fell loosely down her back and her whole attire left not only a fair portion of her Trill markings visible, but also many of her tattoos. After refreshing her makeup, she headed to one of the bars on the Starbase. After all, what better place to find out about rumours than a bar?

The place that struck her interest was called “The Likable Hornet”. What a curious name! After a quick glance around, Viyara walked confidently towards the bar. Sitting down sideways at a stool, her legs crossed at the knee and her right arm resting on the counter, she listened in on the conversations around her while also trying to catch the bartender’s eye.

A strange group of three entered right about that time. A man of average build was wearing dark leather pants and jacket. Another man strode in behind him. This man was tall with a rather muscular physique. His eyes were calm, but his body was tense. And finally, a petite redhaired woman entered. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and her leather garb was form fitting. It did attract some eyes her way, but she paid no mind to it. They took a table of their own and waited to be served.

Out of the corner of her eye Viyara notice the group enter the bar. She deliberately turned her head and partly shifted her upper body, to get a better look at them. They certainly caught her interest. But for now she was happy with the role of observer, wondering who they might be and what had brought them here out of all places. Guessing by the looks they attracted they weren’t regulars. Yet for her purpose that might not be a bad thing. After all, if they had a ship of their own, they might have picked up something that hinted at where the Athena was right now. And while didn’t mind not really being on duty, Viyara already missed the since labs. The computer in her room and her tricorder just weren’t good enough substitutes.
