Stark muttered out of the corner of his mouth to the others, “Is it just me or does the whole universe seem to suddenly be populated with incredibly powerful beings that can make you freeze with just a wave of a hand?” His eyes darkened further and he growled under his breath, “If it’s the last thing I do I’m going to find some way to even the odds and then there will be a reckoning…”. He stilled himself, which of course was redundant and unnecessary, and waited for this thing to play out. He might not be able to move but his waspish humour was going to do some serious damage before this day was done. “And who sends an archer with pets to kill people when there are perfectly good starships out there with corruptible, buy-able people on them, so last year. Who is this neanderthal?”Stark Nightstalker CIO
Orvos was a suprised at the fact that he suddenly had no control of his motor functions aside from speech. “Kivon,” he said in a manner he had once addressed those under him centuries ago. “Stand down. What is all this you are doing?” he asked him, wondering why this particular El Aurian had decided to try and kill people, let alone through methods like this. He awaited the reply as though he were the one in charge of him, clearly not happy with his current actions.

Kivon walked forward a few steps, he stopped for a second to admire the frozen wolf, who snarled, but was otherwise unable to move.
“Why am I doing this, Captain.” he replied, emphasizing the rank. “To hurt you that’s why. And I’ve waited a long time, searched all over the universe to find the perfect means of hurting you.” He explained, an evil smile creeping on his face. He walked towards Orvos.
“You still don’t get it do you?” He asked him menacingly.

Janna quirked an eyebrow at Orvos. Suddenly, things began to make a lot of sense. She couldn’t be sure, but her suspicion was that Orvos was rather long lived in the way a certain species were. But what Kivon’s relationship to Orvos was, she wasn’t sure.
Playing the part of distracting sidekick and enjoying it, Stark quipped, “I certainly don’t”.

Janna was meanwhile keeping quiet, but she wasn’t idle oh no. She was simply observing and gathering information in the way a counsellor does. Whether it would become useful, she didn’t know, but she’d do what she could in this very bizarre situation.
Orvos looked sternly at him. A look he likely had not revealed ever to his companions. A look that perhaps Ghubari would have given an out of line junior crew member.
“Kivon, why? We all went through things we wish we could have changed. But it doesn’t change what everyone went through. I challenge whatever reason you think you have for all of this…this…” he thought for a moment, finding the right word, but could find none.
“If you have issues with me, than deal with me. Dont put others at risk for your own vendetta. Surely time has taught you how precious life is.” Orvos clearly wanted answers now.

Stark was watching Orvos now more than Kivon. This whole interplay was fascinating. He knew something of Orvos and the past he kept under wraps but this was most illuminating. What must it be like for someone like him to live the life of a Chief Engineer? Fascinating.

Kivon smiled, it wasn’t a happy smile, it was an angry one. “You left us, you abandoned us. The Borg came and destroyed everything. It’s your fault. You could have stopped them. I watched as my family was killed or assimilated. Now I get to watch you go through all the pain and agony that we went through, That I went through.” He sneared. “You see, I’ve found your secret, and I’m going to use it against you and your pitiful little friends here. And in the end, you get to watch, powerless as your little girlfriend here gets assimilated by the Borg. Just as I watched my wife do the same.”
-Side Sim GM
Stark wasn’t letting that one go, he’d seen people assimilated by the Borg. “Causing others pain won’t lessen yours, you psychopath, but by all I hold dear I will create pain for you the likes of which you never dreamed existed if you sacrifice anyone to the Borg to fulfil your sick dreams! Now let me go so I can rip your face off!”.

Orvos was silent for a solid minute. It was the quietest, likely anyone had heard him be. Slowly he spoke again, but with emphasis on every word spoken. “My wife and children died at the hands of the borg. I’ve already seen this happen. You would dare to subject other people to such a thing as what we went through?” He paused and gave rise to his voice. “You’re hardly a man, let alone an El Aurian if you honestly go through with something like this.”
He allowed his mind to attempt to reactivate the drone via the device attached to his temple. He had no idea if it would work, let alone if Kivon would try to freeze it too. And in a side thought, tucked away neatly in his mind, so as not to distract him, he had noticed his use of the word girlfriend…in reference to Janna? Did he think…? Well, that was why it was safely tucked away. He needed to think clearly. And taking out the threat was of utmost importance, one way or another.
