He dialled in Stark1, a programme designed to test ability against many different races of varying strengths and skills. “Level one”, the computer intoned and they were surrounded by six weaponless ninja-like figures and a dojo complete with rice paper and bamboo walls.

Stark sucked in a deep breath and cracked his mobile spine into place. “I’m a sentimentalist,” he said depreciatingly, “I love ninja’s“.

Marishka allowed a small smile of appreciation. T’Vor had shown her a place like this on Earth once.

The six rushed them…

As they were rushed Marishka stepped away from Stark ducking and squealing. She moved erratically and Stark might have believed she was a damsel in distress except for the fact that every duck, flinch, and stumble seemed perfectly timed to dodge a strike from any of the three Ninja’s that pursued her even in such finely spiked heels.

  • Marishka

Stark smiled, “Smart,” he thought to himself, “and probably would have been even more effective against real people”. He maneuvered the remaining three until they were encroaching in each other’s space and hampered by their own numbers. He allowed one to “trip” him with a sweep and threw himself down and across the floor like a spinning bowling ball with four sets of claws and some teeth. They retreated back into Marishka’s three wedging all between them.

“Merry Christmas” Stark called out as he let encouraged her to take first blood.

OOC Had to do it haha :-)

Marishka almost didn’t catch Stark’s words. Luckily she remembered what Christmas was on Earth. She smiled gleefully, teeth bared and silver eyes ablaze.

As the Ninja’s retreated, one used another as a spring board and tried to take Marishka by surprise. Smoothly, almost by instinct, Marishka threw a high side kick catching the Ninja under the chin with the spiked heel, impaling his head. She stood there, in perfectly balanced Orion grace, the Ninja dangling from her spiked heel and held aloft by her muscular Klingon leg. She looked over at Stark with a smile on her blood spattered face…

“PRESENTS!” she said joyfully.

Bump

Stark grinned at her jubilant nature. The taciturn ninjas took the death of their fellow in stride but moved to attack Marishka thinking that because she was hanging around. she was vulnerable. Stark was disappointed in them, they should have known better than to turn their back on him. He debated whether to dispatch two from behind but decided that making the sim last longer would be better for all concerned. Flipping his mobile spine he launched himself up from the floor and took one out at the throat with his extended claws making sure to position himself out of the reach of retaliatory attacks. They would have to choose which assailant to go after now having discovered that both were deadly.

Marishka was feeling her inner Klingon rise and, in that moment, it was glorious. But it would seem it was time to get rid of her shoes.

Marishka dropped her leg letting the body of the ninja crumple to the ground. She shed the shoe as it was still stuck in the Ninja’s head.

She smiled as she shook her other foot and let the shoe dangle from her toes. Looking a ninja in the eyes, she pointed at her foot. As the Ninja glanced down, she snapped her leg forward sending the steel spike heeled shoe spinning at the Ninja’s face, the heel embedding deeply into it’s eye, killing it.

  • Marishka

Three down, three up and hardly a challenge under the circumstances. Stark nodded clinically at the move Marishka had just made, Her mixed heritage seemed to show itself in flashy shows of violence, a perfect symmetry of her two natures. He wanted to see what she would do next and so decided to go to the floor again and provide some distraction. Sliding through the pools of blood to increase his fluidity on the floor he snatched up the two shoes and started to spin, using them to devastating effect,… on Ninja feet.

Marishka took a second to watch Stark’s movements and smile at the sound her spiked heels made as they were dislodged from the heads of the dead Ninjas.

As Stark spun on the ground hacking up the legs of two of the Ninjas with her surprisingly heavy spiked heels, the third Ninja was distracted from Marishka.

Marishka pulled the clasp of her chain belt and as it gained momentum sliding off her hips, she slung it out in a graceful arc that Wrapped around the last Ninjas neck. Catching the end, she jerked the ensnared Ninja back and suddenly drew the belt tight, her Klingon strength showing as the Ninja was nearly decapitated.

  • Marishka

Stark hadn’t seen that coming, cartwheeling and ripping the throats out of the other two ninja’s he came to a dead stop looking at all the bodies on the floor and calmly handed Marishka her shoes back.

“You bring a slightly new interpretation to the word accessorising,” he said with a smile, “might I have a look at that belt?

Stark Nightstalker CIO

Marishka smiled and bowed slightly handing the belt over. She looked down at her shoes and grimaced. If it wasn’t holodeck blood her tailor would be very upset with her.

“Why thank you, I try. It’s a variant on a manriki-gusari which was an ancient weapon, found on Earth, though I’ve seen versions from other races.” she explained.

Stark hefted the weapon, “Yes, I’ve attempted to use one, damn near took my own head off”, he grinned, “You need to talk with S’Raal about this, he loves to dabble in creating hidden weaponry, he’d love this”,

It was heavy. Eleven sections of steel, elaborately engraved and inlaid with bronze. The weight on one end was a very elaborate buckle. The other end was a thick slab of metal that locked into the buckle when Marishka wore it as a belt.

“Beautifully functional,” Stark said admiring the workmanship.

Bump

OOC Oops, missed this, thanks for the bump.

Stark cocked his head and looked at the shoes, ‘Modified, I suspect?” he asked politely, “Anything else in your ensemble, hair etc that could be considered a lethal weapon or would you like to keep that as a surprise for round two?”

Stark Nightstalker CIO

OOC: I have an idea that might end up hijacking this thread a bit. But it would make for some very interesting interactions later. hahaha. Let me know your thoughts. :)
-Tony

OOC: You? Hijack a thread? NEVER! Sorry, you can’t see the grin on my face. Bring it!

OOC Oh, I’m so in :-)

IC: Marishka had finished putting her heels on and stood tall to face Stark as she replaced her belt.

“I will be certain to contact S’Raal and see if we might collaborate on something fun and Lethal. After all, I should get to know him a bit shouldn’t I? As for toehr weaponry on my person at this moment… My good man, I am a weapon.” she said with a note of quiet pride.

  • Marishka

“Well said,” Stark commented, “I particularly like the way you use psychological elements in your warfare.”

He snapped his fingers and the computer intoned “Level Two”. Stark smiled a little and then snapped his fingers again to initiate level three. He looked at his fingers that had just done the clicking. “Makes me feel like a magician,” he said depreciatingly. “This level might be more your speed,” he said chuckling.

They were suddenly in a crowded ballroom with chandeliers and early French Renaissance decor. Stylish men and women waltzing in pairs made an interesting counterpoint wearing floor-length leather jackets that could be concealing anything.

“This is S’Raal’s invention,” Stark said simply, “He and T’Pon have turned dancing into a rather violent art form. The trick here is that you don’t know who to trust and who’s going to try and take you out.”

He extended a paw “Care to dance the dance of death Marishka?”.

Stark Nightstalker CIO

Marishka looked around at the lovely scene before dropping a graceful curtsy and taking Stark’s extended paw.

“That would be lovely.”

  • Marishka

As their hands touched, the scenery around them flickered between multiple different settings and finally settled on a familiar place for Stark. A village surrounded the dancing participants. It was an old village, one not overly sophisticated, but enough to withstand the elements.

Behind the duo and in the distance, a storm was leaving the area over a large body of water.

It was now a blended program. A program of S’Raal’s own making, and an access point to Orvos’s own world. Only Stark Nightstalker and Ghubari Koraia knew of the secret program Orvos had. It was a collaborative effort between El Aurians everywhere, and it was the recreation of specific parts of the El Aurian homeworld. How the two had just now managed to blend together was a mystery.

However, the dance had begun and was now underway.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

Marishka looked around trying to hide her surprise.

“And I suppose it was supposed to do that? Interesting.” she said to Stark.

  • Marishka

Stark was grinning from ear to ear, “No, but I recognise Orvos’ hand in the modifications.” He turned and looked at Marishka, “Let’s be ready for anything because with Orvos at the helm I have no idea what will come next”.

He drew her into the starting position for a tango watching each other’s back and they stalked into the centre of the dance, eyes sharp and claws sharper…

OOC Handing control over to you Tony :-)
Catt, feel free to toss me… just don’t tell the elf…

Marishka sighed and bared her teeth but, in the end, she couldn’t help but smile.

“And you really think we’d make good friends hmm?” she asked as Stark lead them onto the dance floor.

  • Marishka

“Three different but similar controlling manipulators all trying to outdo each other…” Stark smiled showing his own fangs, “Perhaps an interesting take on friendship, but definitely not boring as relationships go. Chances are he wants to see you in action the same way I did”.

Marishka nodded and smiled. She was prepared to give him exactly what he wanted.

Stark led Marishka into a spin and then dip, using every movement to enable them to have visual perception and body angle to be able to respond to any attack.

OOC: I’ll touch this thread for tonight and then the main sim tomorrow. ;)

IC: There were a few couples who mirrored Stark and Marishka’s movements exactly, others who significantly contrasted, and others who would hover by and move off. As the cadence to the song changed, suddenly everyone split from their partner and chose a new one.

A petite woman with long, flowing red locks of hair. Her brown eyes looked up expectantly at Stark. Meanwhile, a tall well built man strode up to Marishka, his green eyes vibrant and the very slight wrinkles at his eyes smiling. He had short, dark hair and an extended hand towards the dame. “May I?” he inquired politely as the woman beamed at the CIO.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

OOC: If you want, you both can split the thread because each of you will likely have a different conversation. I’ll reblend the thread once those respective talks are over. ;)
-Tony

Marishka gave Stark a final glance.

“Save the last dance for me.” she said before bowing to her new partner and taking his hand.

“Of course” Stark said with a wink.

Marishka wondered if the resemblance to Julien was intentional or dumb luck but, somehow, she didn’t believe dumb luck fit the bill when it came to Orvos.

“Well here’s hoping you can keep up.”

  • Marishka

Stark smiled at the small woman before him knowing full well that looks could be deceiving. “Madame,” he said formally taking her by the hand and giving a slight bow but keeping a weather eye on the other participants at the same time.
