Having ostensibly completed her psychological evaluation, Jessica eagerly made her way to Sickbay, excited to both meet her new department head and finally be fully at her new station. She bounded through the Sickbay doors as soon as they opened and then stopped, enjoying a moment of surveying the slight bustle around her before nudging a nearby nurse.

“Can you tell me where to find Dr. Grey?”

Dr. Lemann

The nurse pointed the young woman towards an enclosed office “He’ll be in there” He said looking at the room, the privacy setting activated. Neither person could see through the tinted window “He shouldn’t be busy so just hit the chime” He explained.

Jessica smiled her thanks to the nurse. “Thank you so much,” she responded. As she began to make her way to the privacy-shielded office, she called back over her shoulder. “I’m Dr. Lemann, I’m looking forward to working with you.”

At the sound of the chime, a soft Scottish accent sounded through the door “Enter.”

Dr. Grey - CMO

As the door slid open, Jessica squared her shoulders slightly and then stepped through. “Hello, I’m Dr. Lemann, I was just transferred to the Athena,” she said, her face bright with a cheerful grin. “I’m so excited to be here and to be working with you.” On the shorter side, her entire body vibrated with excitement as she reported in. Her long blonde hair was secured in a braid down her back and intense green eyes met Grey’s as her hand reached out to shake his in the typical human manner.

The office Lemann entered in was like most CMO offices, tidy, warm and inviting. Two chairs on the other side of the desk which had two neat rows of PaDDs and an open computer terminal. In the Corner on Ben’s left was a potted plant in a metal casing, the plant was fairly new but the pot old, a small dark stain on its side as if something had leaked there. Benjamin stood up, placing a glass of water down on his desk, smiled a warm smile, and shook her hand in response. Although he was over 30 centimeters taller his slender build and kind expression usually portrayed him as a very unintimidating and friendly figure. “A Pleasure, for sure” Although he spoke with a Scottish accent there was a hint of English, hinting at his southern education “Have a seat please” He indicated to the two chairs as he himself sat down

Jessica took a few moments to glance around the office, feeling that observing the little details always gave her key information about a person. For someone on the smaller side, her handshake was quite firm. Dropping her hand back to her side, she made her way to one of the indicated chairs, sinking down into it in one smooth motion, but remaining toward the front of it, leaning forward with interest.

He scratched his jaw and felt a hint of a growing stubble, mentally reminding himself to shave after his shift he grabbed one of the PaDDs at his desk and tapped it “Dr Lemann, Jessica A.” He read aloud, he didn’t really need to as he’d memorized the file when he first received it. However, reciting info like that from memory often freaked people out. He inhaled through his nose deeply before continuing, quickly memorizing the new scent “Five brothers all fleeters” He chuckled “I think I might have been in the Academy at the same time as some of them” He looked up “Says here your fathers a doctor, is that what inspired you for this profession?” He asked.

Dr. Grey - CMO

Jessica’s eyes flicked to Grey’s hand rubbing at his jaw as she waited for him to peruse what she assumed to be her personnel file on the PaDD. As he mentioned her background, her eyes made their way back to watching his own, meeting his gaze when he looked up. She smiled fondly as she thought about her siblings, although she couldn’t help but wince slightly at Grey’s mention that he may have attended the Academy with some of them. It was the youngest sibling’s curse to feel like she was never going to be completely out of the shadow of her ambitious collection of older brothers. “Pretty much,” she responded, her tone fairly casual. “I enjoy taking care of people and my father included me in his work from a young age. I think he knew that I was his only chance, although two of my brothers did eventually go to medical school as well.” Her head tilted to the side as she studied Grey’s reaction to her response before returning the question, “how about you? How did you end up in medicine?” She sat back slightly, intent on listening to his reply.
