He wasn’t about to run blind into a situation. That would have two people ambushed if that was what happened to Ensign Ceres.

=^=Captain I think we have a issue to the East of the Landing Zone. Ensign Ceres reported multiple alien landing pods and now fails to respond to comms.=^=

Suddenly the comm badge sputtered back into life as a general distress call went out. =/\= Please advise, we are taking fire, I count seven hostiles… damn they’re fast… send backup…eastern quadrant…=/\= the Comm line went dead abruptly.

=^=Mr Ceres lay down suppressing fire… do not expose yourself to too much danger… I’ll be there presently.=^= Now that he knew that Ceres was at least holding his position… R’han could run to that location with relative confidence.

There was no reply but in the distance the sounds of phaser fire and a whine of some other weapon brought knowledge that the fight continued, fiercely.

Disappointed that he hadn’t had a response from his fellow officers, and concerned that Ceres was equally quiet likely for a completely different reason, R’han used the weapon sounds to orient him to the flank of the enemy. It would be common tactical practice that the assualting force would extend their lines trying to get around the Federation officer… R’han would loop around and come on the outside of their position… laying down surprising fire from the flank or even the rear if he was lucky… not to far to the rear so he could get hit from behind by the enemies reinforcements. That were certain to be coming up.
