“Most likely due to your lack of emotional depth” Benjamin said in a very casual manner as if describing an illness to a patient. Although it was a clear attempt at riling the scientist up it was delivered with enough real arrogance to seem authentic “A probable result because of embarrassment for a lack of academic achievements.” He added without looking a the scientist, keeping the same neutral expression.

The heat in Liam’s hands spiked a notable degree and remained there. Meanwhile, the patient blinked. A mix of shock and surprised mingled on Liam’s expression, the reaction breaking his sober one. For a moment, he wasn’t sure how to respond to the insult.
His lips tightened before he replied.
“At least I don’t allow my emotions to override my common sense. I thought you were an intelligent person. At least smarter than to say your thoughts out loud where I can hear them…”
Liam stated while still being ignorant of Grey’s intentions.

Benjamin looked up with a disinterested expression “The expression of ones thoughts should never be kept internal and never governed by childish emotions or the outbreaks that entails” He looked at the display and nodded slightly in approval “Not that you’re at fault, it is quite common for men of above average intelligence to lack emotional maturity” the Doctor continued his arrogant display of distain. Never in his life had he felt more uncomfortablem, he was hoping that sticking to generalities and misconceptoons were enough to rile Madsion up without actually permenately spurning him.

Liam’s eyes closed for a moment, thinking of his reply. He attempted to focus, but his mind appeared to have difficulty. For the time, he explained it away with frustration. A reply came to his mind, but he bit his tongue. Iron filled his taste as the temperature in his hands increased. They went from pale straw yellow to red then to blue, still climbing at an alarming rate. Liam’s radiation levels had taken a sudden dropped when his hands reached over a thousand.
During his distraction, his figure tilted to one side. His arm rushed out to correct his posture and hissed when it touched the cold surface. The sound startled him enough to right himself and jerk it away. He left a small scorch mark behind.
“Grey…” Liam began but he trailed off as he tried to stay upright.
