It took Janna a couple long moments to clue into what the man was saying and her green eyes widened. Wife. She was the only one who could match that description- he meant her! “Uhhh, I’m no one’s wife. Trust me, I’d know,” Janna said defiantly. “I am with them willingly and they are my friends,” she added, her tone more gently and her eyes fixed on the man with the bow and arrow.
~Janna Kingston, ACNSThe time for diplomatic strategy was closing. They were bent on starting something. Orvos took the moment to attach a circular device to his right temple. After doing so, his drone appeared before him out of his wrist device and stayed mid air on standby.
“She’s not your wife, and she’s not going with you. So, unless you have some sort of other business to attend to, it may be best to leave.”
Orvos had a feeling a fight would ensue and so his he prepared for the inevitable. His drone was already powered up and targeting the man’s waistline, specifically his belt. Comical move? Perhaps. But advantageous if the man’s pants were to come down and tie up his feet’s movement and drop his sword to the ground. And he knew he would only have on shot. Orvos was an engineer at heart, but he wasn’t completely defenseless without his technology. He had some extensive training in hand to hand combat, and sword play. It came with the centuries spent with his best friend Dawson, who had studied his whole life to be a fighter and strategist.

Stark took a second to reflect that downtime needed to be reassigned in the Federation Manual to “amok time” due to the proclivity with which said downtime always turned into some form of bar room brawl. He approved.
Stark’s eyes darkened as he cross targeted the two animals and made contingency plans. He wanted to avoid them being flanked, especially by the panther who had five danger points compared to the wolf’s one. He was also aware of a growing crowd of “rubber neckers”, people who if they died in the ensuing violence would at least by their demise raise the average of the intelligence quota of the universe by several points. No doubt on top of their presence it wouldn’t be long before local law enforcement arrived to further make this day more complicated. Stark found his “happy place” and prepared to concentrate on prejudicial “disembowlement”.

The hooded man stared at Janna, as he did so, the two animals appeared to relax and, if one could read animal expressions, they appeared to be slightly confused. The flame on the arrow dimmed slightly as he stared at her behind his hood.
“You are right, you are not her. You look a lot like her, but she has blue eyes, not green.” He explained, with each word he spoke the anger in his voice became more apparent. Suddenly, he turned his bow away from group. He took a couple of steps forward raising the bow up and around. This man was clearly looking for someone.
“Where are you, you little bastard!” The wolf moved forward sniffing the ground, while the panther leapt down from the boxes also looking for new prey.
“I know you are here, I can feel it! Show your self!” He yelled taking slow steps, as if he was expecting and ambush.

“Someone tell me what the hell is going on here,” Janna said under her breath through gritted teeth. She instinctively felt the danger but she had very little context for any of it. All she knew was that Orvos was involved and he was full of interesting secrets.

Orvos raised an eyebrow, puzzled at the sudden change in pace. He brought his drone back to his wrist device as quickly as it had come out. This man was looking for someone else apparently. He also wondered how long until security and medical teams arrived. This was certainly something out of the ordinary.
“Do you know anything about the person who took your wife away?” he asked in a somewhat calmer tone. He was still pretty irritated at the fact that someone from another time had just randomly shown up on this starbase of all places. The place where he, Orvos, was at.
“Not really,” the guy with the bow replied, still looking around the area. “Human, hooded. He brought me here, said that two people, one of whom was a walking cat, held my wife hostage. If I wanted my freedom, I had to kill them. I’ve realized that it is he who has her, not you.”
He glanced to Stark, hoping he would catch on that somehow security teams still hadn’t made it yet. He also gave Janna an apologetic look. Truthfully, he had no idea what was going on…yet.

Looking at Orvos and shrugging slightly Stark relaxed 10%, sufficient to patch his ever present personal PaDD into the station’s systems around them in the hopes he’d pick up some chatter about what was going on in the station. Displaced Time usually had some serious consequences, time bubbles, Borgified Dinosaurs, simple stuff like that. Where the heck was the constabulary anyway?
Chatter and logs in the star base indicated that there was nothing wrong. As far as the station was concerned, nothing was wrong.
Meanwhile he started to calculate vectors of which way this guy and his menagerie could strike if provoked and started to throw filthy looks at the people who were rubbernecking. Finally in a big loud voice full of menace Stark yelled at the crowd. “Unless you feel like being ripped apart and being impaled on sharp claws, clear the area”. He didn’t make it clear whether he was referencing the panther or himself.

No one moved when Stark yelled. They all seemed frozen. Whether it was from fear or something else, it was hard to tell. Suddenly, the wolf growled and bolted to the right of the group, towards a nearby store. The Panther followed quickly, running fast, between Stark and Janna behind his feline companion.
“Gotcha,” The archer said excitedly, the flame on his arrow suddenly brightened. He moved to follow his animal friends.

There was no time to tell the others what he had discovered, no time in fact to take umbrage over being called a “walking cat”. Stark followed the man swiftly realising that whatever was happening was momentarily beyond his control and ability to manipulate.

Orvos followed close. He also looked over the people he passed, curious if his mind would pick up any shifts in the space/time continuum around him.
Orvos didn’t have much time to think it all through as the others moved rather quickly. He kept in relatively close proximity to Janna as he followed, curious as to who the man had found.
