Wer Beta III is the third planet of the Wer Beta system, positioned along a politically sensitive corridor between the Romulans and Klingons.

Classified as a Class M world, Wer Beta III is approximately 1.6 times Earth’s mass and diameter, resulting in slightly higher gravity. The planet occupies the outer edge of the system’s Goldilocks zone, a placement that would normally suggest colder global temperatures. However, current research shows that a combination of factors such as dense atmospheric composition, strong geothermal activity, etc., produce a stable and temperate climate across most of the planet.

Seasonal variation is mild, with long growing periods and infrequent extreme weather. Polar regions exist but are relatively narrow, while equatorial zones avoid the oppressive heat found on many similar worlds. This unusual balance has intrigued Federation climatologists, who consider Wer Beta III a textbook example of a naturally self-regulating biosphere.

The planet’s dominant landmass stretches across the northern hemisphere and is bordered by wide, shallow seas rich in marine life. Fertile plains, rolling highlands, and extensive river systems define the interior, while the coastline is deeply indented with bays and natural harbors.

Varresh Taal blends dense urban development with expansive green spaces and terraced agricultural districts that extend almost to the city center. Its docks are among the busiest on Wer Beta III, handling both planetary shipping and an increasing number of offworld freighters.

To accommodate growing interstellar traffic, construction has recently begun on a dedicated spaceport complex north of the city. Designed with Federation engineering consultation, the facility is intended to handle warp capable vessels, diplomatic traffic, and Starfleet support craft, signaling Wer Beta III’s intent to fully integrate into interstellar society.
