The away team reappeared in the transporter bay, missing one. The NE behind the controls tapped his combadge =/\=The away team is back. Most of them. But I lost Lt. Ducante’s pattern. I’m sorry sir.=/\=

-GM

Janna felt herself fully materialize and heard the transporter operator’s words. She stepped off the pad and looked around before turning back to the NE. “What do you mean he’s been lost?”

~Janna Kingston, CNS

OOC: Hope I’m ok to jump in here?

IC: As the alert about the explosion near the away team came through, Charlie instinctively grabbed her medkit and sprinted to the transporter room. She barrelled through the door to the transporter room with her medical tricorder poised. “Is everyone alright?” She asked, catching her breath. “Was anyone injured in the explosion?” She added, quickly taking a look round the team for any obvious injuries.

  • Lt (jg) Bailey (Doctor)

The Chief Engineer was holding two people; one the Doctor would recognize and the other was obviously from the ‘settlement’. He set Kingston down and said “Take a look at her, Doc. I may have been a little overzealous when I grabbed her.”He then set their tour-guide down and locked eyes with them. “Care to explain yourself before I turn you over to Security? Attempted murder of Star Fleet officers carries a lot of years in the penal colonies.”

Hammor, CE

Oops.” she responded, smiling sickeningly.

-GM

“Fair enough.” Hammor replied. He tapped his badge and said “Commander Hammor to Security. I have a suspect in custody. Send four security escorts to move her holding. And bring restraints.” There was an acknowledgement from Security and Daggum looked at the Transporter Chief. “Scan for him. Can you figure out where he went?”

Hammor, CE

Janna stood there in disbelief and shook her head, waving her hand. “I’m fine. Any bruising won’t be life threatening,” she said, knowing that even a small injury would require attention in Sickbay, just in case. She looked at Daggum and Serena. “Ducante is still alive,” she said adamantly. “I know he is.” It wasn’t as strong a sense as she would have preferred but it was more than just intuition. It was something she felt in the fibre of her being.

~Janna Kingston, CNS

Except the redhead wasn’t immediately in sight.

Charlie smiled warmly, knowing that most officers in Kingston’s position would say the same thing. “Well just for my peace of mind, would you humour me?” She asked gently, waggling her tricorder before leaning in and whispering. “I promise, no sickbay unless something is broken or hanging off…” she added quietly just for Janna’s ears.

  • Lt (jg) Bailey (Doctor)

The psychologist blew out a breath and nodded. She knew better than to be flippant with her health, especially with potential injuries.

A quick scan would show that Janna was fine except for a couple small bruises, one on the outside of each arm. For anyone else, it would not be a big deal and certainly nothing to rush to Sickbay for. Depending on the level of the bruise though, it could spell trouble for Janna given her acquired mild hemophilia. It meant that despite her regular injection of clotting factors, she would continue to bleed, if slowly. When she finally clotted and stopped depended on numerous variables.

OOC: Unless of course the GM objects and wants to strike her down with something more serious.

~Janna Kingston, CNS

Charlie ran a quick scan and noticed an alert on her tricorder. She opened her medkit and quickly loaded a hypospray with an extra dose of clotting factors. “Just to be on the safe side in light of your condition let’s give you a little boost,” she said as she gently pressed the hypospray into Janna’s neck, ensuring her voice was quiet enough that only Janna could hear her. “There, all sorted,” she added with a smile as she popped the hypospray back in her medkit.

“I’ll come by later to be checked out, promise,” Janna said, before her attention was drawn elsewhere.

A thin sheet of crimson spread across the transporter pad, creeping into view near their guide. Its source? The XO lay unconscious, pieces of jagged decking jutting obscenely from one thigh, and the other calf, and more pooling form somewhere near her upper body. Just before the explosions, she’d been moving near one of the bulkheads, ready to take a defensive position, cover. And was nearly on top of the explosive ring when it went off… like a mine she was practically standing on.

She lay there on her side, not moving, type I phaser cradled in her fist. The full extent of her injures remained unknown, but by the blood and the thin curls of smoke twisting form her uniform…

Lt. Cmdr. Stone, Executive Officer

“Serena!” Janna said and moved in her direction, but Charlie was ahead and of her and she didn’t want to be in the way. Still, she moved around the other side, keeping close.

Charlie dashed onto the platform and knelt down next to XO, flipping her tricorder open with one hand and tapping her comm badge with the other. =^= Emergency medical team to transporter bay! =^= she barked as she began to assess Stone’s injuries.

  • Lt (jg) Bailey (Doctor)

Ben hopped in only moments later followed by two medical NE’s, he pointed them to check out the rest of the team and knelt next to Bailey “Assessment.”

Doctor Grey
CMO

“She’s lost too much blood already. Let’s not waste time,” Kingston said looking back at the transporter chief. “Just beam us all the !#$% to Sickbay!”

OOC: Fixed the med given to Janna as discussed.

~Janna Kingston, CNS

The transporter chief was working the controls quickly, locking the XO’s pattern, then Doctor Bailey’s, then Doctor Grey stepped forward. At Janna’s order, he nodded. “Aye, ma’am.” A moment later all occupants were locked. =^=Transporter room to Sickbay. Stay put. They’re coming to you. =^=

“Energizing.” The aunnular confinement beam locked them all into place and with a blue-shift in light, they were ripped apart into their constituent particles and shot across the short distance of the ship, reassembled in a couple seconds.

He sighed. “I guess I’ll go get a squeegee.”

Lt. Cmdr. Stone, Executive Officer/NE transporter chief…

ooc: Cut Response Because I can’t read :p
Hjortur

OOC: So I made an oops and Sage agreed I could fix it. I didn’t mean everyone should have been beamed over to Sickbay. Daggum and the guest/hostage are still here. I’m going to have a Sec NE jump in and Rusty, feel free to jump in with NEs and/or take over. Either way is fine with me. :D
IC:
It was mere moments later when NE Novak stepped in, weapon in hand, with three of her team mates. Her teammates had their weapons drawn and she holstered hers and pulled out the restraints. “Will you be accompanying us, Sir?” Jasmine asked Hammor as she stepped up to the unknown woman and moved to secure her arms behind her back.

~NE Novak

Hammor’s eyes never left their ‘guide’. “Damn straight I will be.” the Engineer said flatly.

Hammor, CE

Long overdue Security NEs entered and restrained their captive. “Not so tight.” she said. The NEs looked to Hammor. “Shall we put her in a cell in the brig, sir?”

-GM

“Unless she she gives us reason not to.” the Chief Engineer said. He looked at her and said “Listen. As far as I’m concerned, you can go back to your colony, there. But we can’t do that without some act of good faith on your part. Tell me what the hell that was all about, and I’ll have you set up in regular quarters until all this settles. Up to you.”

Hammor, CE

OOC: Bringing this forward. Tony is going to play Azriah and I will jump in where needed as Sec NEs. Janna will likely pop in here to help soon as well.

~Mischief Maker

Azriah said nothing and so Security gestured to Hammor that they should head to the brig. At this point, they didn’t want to take any chances.

~Mischief Maker

OOC: My apologies for the lengthy delay.

IC: Azriah gave no reply. She simply stared up at the orion man, eyes locked as he spoke, lips zipped shut. She took a deep breath and turned her back on Hammor, clearly resigned to her fate.

-Azriah

“Brig it is then,” Ensign Cavassan said. With a hand gently on Azriah’s arm, she coaxed the restrained woman to the brig with Hammor as she read their prisoner her rights.

Arriving, the other security officer (Denar) partner took up the control station and nodded that all was ready. Cavassan led Azriah into the cell. The field went up shortly after.

Stepping back to Hammor and folding her arms across her chest, Cavassan seemed curious. “What now?” she asked Daggum.

~Mischief Maker

Azriah paced quietly considering her predicament. She was lost in thought. When she realized she had been pacing, the happened to glance out of the cell she was in, noticing she was being watched. She turned away grumbling and sat down on the bed available in her cell.

-Azriah

A few minutes later, the door to the brig slipped open and admitted Janna. She was still in the uniform she had worn on the away mission, same as Daggum, and she seemed to be doing fine. But there was an intense expression in her green eyes as she set them on Daggum. She drew up to her friend and spoke quietly, opening up her hand just enough for him to see the data chip. “This is for you. She asked me to give it to you. She wanted you to hear it from her and not form others. You can watch it alone or I can go with you, but you shoudl do this now.” Janna felt certain that it was too important to ignore. Yes, they had a prisoner who might be able to help them, but nothing significant was going to change there in the next five minutes.

~Janna Kingston, CNS

Bump

Azriah heard someone enter the brig. She turned to see one of the officers of the Athena who had been at the explosion walk over to the orion officer. Her eyes settled on the pair, her ears now trying to hear what she could. She could only hear faint vocalizations and nothing more. Too far and soft for her to pick up. But it seemed important. Was it about her? Did they receive orders pertaining to her? Was someone trying to get her released? She couldn’t tell.

-Azriah

Hammor glanced down at the chip and simply nodded. He took it and walked to the far side of the room and stood in front of the comms terminal. He looked back over his shoulder at Cavassan and said “Everyone but myself and the Counselor post outside, please. No one in until I open the door. I will take full responsibility for the brig for the moment.”

He waited for the room to clear before inserting the chip in the reader. Before playing it, he activated the privacy screen on the cell Azriah was in and the field turned an opaque white and blocked all sound from entering the cell. He then opened the data on the chip, but only after making sure the terminal was secure and nothing could be sent from the chip into the system.

Hammor, CE

In a moment completely unlike Faye there was no additional encryption, nothing that would get in the way of him opening the message easily. That and possibly she was just in that much of a hurry.

It was an audio message, no visual.

Hey Gem. There wasn’t time to tell you about this in person, and to be honest I don’t know if I’d be strong enough to do so. But I couldn’t go ahead without telling you about this myself. It’s only fair.

While you and the away team were down there I continued my investigation. Long story short, there is an Intelligence operative who was on one of the attacked vessels whose crew went missing. We have every reason to believe he’s somewhere on that structure. While there’s no external evidence his mission was compromised- and Intell has heard zilch from him- we all know these people would not take kindly to interlopers.

The Athena was assigned this mission in part because of me and my background. I discovered this when I dug into his file. I also had someone from Intell (probably an agent monitoring his case) confirm that this is all bigger than we originally thought. They want him back and if they are asking (and not ordering) me to retrieve him, they a) don’t deem him expendable, and b) know me well enough to know I’d not leave a man hanging. I not only have to go see if he can be rescued, but we have Ducante to rescue as well. I could not live with myself if I sat back and let others less skilled attempt this. I know this and you know this. That doesn’t mean I’m doing this blindly or that I’m not struggling with the idea. But it is one of those times where the reward is worth the terrible risk.

I love you. I know I don’t have to tell you that, but I’m saying it anyway. I love you Daggum Hammor, body and soul.” An audible hitch could be heard in her voice. “The Captain has promised me that no matter what he won’t leave me there and in a moment of growth, I trust in that. I’ll be home as soon as I can. For now, help me by helping figure out what the hell these people have gotten into. All my digging leads me to them involved in some sort of trafficking of people. But with whom? Why?

See you soon.

The message ended

~Faye Calloway, CIO

Janna had listened but her focus had been on Daggum the entire time. She gazed up at him, feeling a bit of overwhelm of her own on behalf of her friends. “I asked her on the bridge if she was sure. She said she didn’t want to, but she had to. She wouldn’t leave anyone there to go through what she had any long than they had to. It was pretty hard to disagree with that. She knows what she going into and is determined and in my experience, a determined Faye Calloway is a force to be reckoned with.”

She reached out a hand and placed it on his arm. “But I will say this about your wife, Daggum: she has more courage and gumption in her big toe than most people conjure over their entire life. I I like their odds.”

~Janna Kingston, CNS

Bump

Bump

Janna patted his arm and gave him a moment to digest Faye’s message before she moved away and back over to the prisoner. She should probably change but there was a part of her wanted Azriah to be reminded that her actions had had real consequences.

She folded her arms over her chest and gazed at the woman in the brig cell. “You had to know that endangering our lives would only bring more attention to this place. Why bother with the explostion at all?”

~Janna Kingston, CNS

Azriah sat in her cell by this point and she simply eyed Janna. She took in the sight of her disheveled state. Yeah, lives were endangered. They didn’t understand the half of it though. She kept quiet though. She was resolute. And she knew better than to say anything to these people, especially when lives hung in the balance.

-Azriah

Janna held Azriah’s gaze intently, never veering. She could all but feel the threads beneath the surface. Was there fear? Yes, she thought so, but it was masked under indifference. “Looking around down there, it was clear you’ve all had a rough go of it. And I get you have had a bad history with someone from Starfleet, but if you’re in trouble, we can’t help unless we know what’s going on.”

~Janna Kingston, CNS

Azriah, for the briefest of moments, wanted to trust this woman’s words. But she knew better. Starfleet couldn’t be trusted. “You certainly know something is going on. Why does that mean I’m in trouble?” she replied in defiance.

Rado came in to the brig, whistling and carrying a tray of drinks. “Okay, so I’ve got my kava juice. Who, uh, asked for the glass of…Earth Water?” He asked aloud. He then noticed the lady in the brig. “Oh, I’m sorry. Did you want something?”

Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Security Lieutenant

Kingston’s gaze shifted to Rado for a moment and then back to Azriah to see how the woman reacted to the new presence and his offer.

~Janna Kingston, CNS

Azriah sneered. “The earth water. That’s what I want.” She eyed the security officer, curious how he might respond to her.

-Azriah

Rado smiled and said, “Alright. That makes you braver than me. Earth water tends to hurt my tummy.”

After around for permission, Rado inserted the glass of water into the food and drink slot. “I can replicate some ice, too, if that’s what you want.”

Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Security Lieutenant

BUMP!

Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Security Lieutenant

OOC: Tony and I agreed that I should take over Azriah. Moving this forward now.
IC:
“Ice…” Azriah shook her head. “I don’t need ice. If that’s what is standard around here, no wonder you Starfleet folks are so soft.”

~Mischief Maker
