“Well, you have the opportunity now. This place is filling out—lots of people to meet!”

“Would it be rude of me to say I’m not feeling this, Do you maybe want to get out of here?, maybe take a self tour of the ship or go to the holodeck?”

Chris said not wanting to be rude to anyone else at the party

Meadows happened to catch the wave of one medical officer at an occupied table. Perhaps they were seeking company? He strolled over to the pair with a grin. “Hello! Are you two from the Memorial? Or are you crew I still haven’t met yet?” he said with a smile standing near the table.

Talia saw Meadows approaching and clued Taylor in with a nod in his direction. “Hello there. Yes, we’re from the Memorial although we never met each other before today. Are you new to the Athena too?”

Meadows grinned. “I’ve been aboard for awhile. She’s a big ship and we see people come and go. I don’t always interact much with other departments. The name’s Matthias Meadows, Chief Helmsman aboard. And you are?” he asked.

“Talia Ren, medical.” She realized after she announced her department that her uniform had told Meadows already. “We just met too,” she motioned a finger between herself and Taylor. “But we’re hoping to meet some new friends here.”

Chris decided to listen to the verbal exchange before he introduced himself

Although she was having an okay time in the Parthenon, Talia smiled at Taylor. “Sure, we can get out of here if you like. Did you have a destination in mind or are we just winging it?” She’d had a chance to eat something and meet a few people so the gathering had been successful as far as she was concerned. If Chris wanted them to take off, she had no qualms about it.

“I’m just winging it , maybe you had an idea?”

Chris said stepping up from where he was sat

She looked at him, her eyes squinting with a silent question. “No, I don’t. This is your idea. I would have thought you already had something in mind.”

“Lets just take a walk around the ship to start maybe something will come to us”

Chris said with a smile

Talia shrugged her shoulders. “Okay, doesn’t really sound much different than this, but if that’s what you want to do, let’s do it.” She rose from her chair and looked over to make sure Taylor was doing the same. Once they stepped into the corridor and the doors shut behind them, the noise died down. “Okay, left or right?”

OOC: If you want, you can start a new thread with whatever direction he chooses, that way we won’t have to keep typing in the middle of this one.

Ben wasn’t too happy about this gathering. He was content with staying in his bunk until his 1st duty shift started. Ben walked in with a slight avoidance demeanor. The best course of action to get Ben out of this funk, would be ask him about his home.

Gainn saw Lieutenant Park enter the bar. Careful not to trip and waste his perfectly good hasperat soufflé, he made his way over to him. “Hey, check it out!” The Bajoran said excitedly, “The food taste just like home! I can practically taste Bajor!”

“That does look good Rado.” Ben smiled. Casually walking around to scope out an empty chair.

After a busy day, and despite being a bit tired, Janna slipped into the Parthenon with a smile on her face. She had changed out of her uniform and into a simple navy blue dress that fell just past her knees and tall black boots that stopped just before her knees. They had a modest heel and helped her feel no so short around some of the taller crew. Approaching the group she had already met earlier, Janna smiled wide. “Good evening. How’s everyone doing?”

“Very good, counselor,” Rado answered Kingston with a mouthful of hasperat soufflé. “This, uh, soufflé is reminds me of the ones offered at a restaurant that my family used to go to before the, uh, Cardassians shut it down.”

She grinned at him. “One of the true delights of life is finding happy memories through food,” Kingston said.

Meadows glanced over to the counselor. “Doing well Miss Kingston. It seems we have quite the gathering.” he said, gesturing to those present.

Her grin remained as she took in Meadows. “Indeed. It’s good to see. It means I don’t have to go on a morale boosting kick.” She was only half-joking, but it really did make it easier on her and her staff when the crew jumped into supporting each other socially.

Stepping up to the bar, she ordered a Risan mai-tai and turned to face the others again.

Ben noticed some familiar faces from his previous post that his nervousness had subsided. He casually walked closer to the large group and sat down in the empty chair. “I sure hope with this new post we can make some new friends.” Ben spoke up.

“As long you don’t confuse the Enterprise captains, you should be fine,” Rado answered, “Happened to me at the Academy. My classmates never let me live it down. I still get messages sometimes.”
