(snip)

The away team started to see the familiar pattern of being transported. And then Lt. Ducante fell.

He found himself in a pile of scrap 3 floors down. He felt the pains of the journey down, but was able to move.

-GM

Lt. Ducante groaned in pain from the fall. He quickly assessed that he could still move his body. He slowly looked around where he fell, checking his surroundings, grabbing and resecuring his phaser that flew out of his hand during the fall. He checked his comms. =^=”Ducante to Transporter room, can you reestablish the lock on me?”=^= He was unsure if the transmission went through.
Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

The only response was the sound of crackling.

-GM

He surveyed the area, looking for a door or way out, back to the surface. He used the wall to fully stand up, and support himself. “Can anyone hear me?” He yelled.
Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

Ducante heard nothing for a moment, and then someone swore in Orion. But no reply came, save the mild echo of his own voice.

-GM

Lt. Ducante walked along the wall trying to find an opening, or anything to tell him where he was and how to get back to the team. “Am I trapped in a prison, or is there an escape somewhere? What happened to the rest of the team? Do they even realize I didn’t get beamed up to the ship with them yet?” He asked to himself. “I swear I heard someone say something in Orion language.” He continued talking to himself.
Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

The further Ducante moved, he found himself under a light. It almost could have been confused for sunlight. From concealed behind a pieace of scrap, he saw a green arm. He couldn’t be sure yet who this was or how they had gotten there.

-GM

Looking around at his surroundings as he walked to find a way back to the team, he found a green arm behind a piece of metal substance. “Hey, are you conscious? Are you ok? Can you hear me?” He called out, hoping the arm was attached to a body, and that his translator would be able to translate the green arm’s language if it did have a body.

There was a groan and the arm moved a bit, but seemed to struggle under the chunks of metal that had fallen on top of the person.

Bump

I survey the metal to determine if I could move it myself and free him. Trying to see that also moving the metal off of him wouldn’t cause further medical issues.
Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

The metal was movable, though it took effort and precious energy. Still, when the larger piece came off, Ducante could see that the person underneath the rubble was an Orion male.

~Mischief Maker

“Are you alright? Can you move?” I ask the Orion, looking for any serious or life threatening injuries on him. Part of Lt. Ducante hoped this Orion knew where they were and could help get him back to the away team. He also wondered if they were looking for him, or presumed him dead…
Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

The green was in motion as the man pushed himself up and managed to sit back on his heels, though he looked a bit unsteady. There were obvious cuts on the man’s bare arms and he could see a deep bruise on his face that did not look fresh from the fall. It surrounded one eye and the man had a hard time opening it fully. “I can move. Who are you?” he said, glaring at Ducante.

“I am Lt. Ducante, a member of Starfleet. I am the Chief of Security on the U.S.S. Athena. I grab a tricorder from my belt. “This is a tricorder, it will not hurt you, but with your permission, I’d like to scan it over you, help with some of those bruises.” He said to the man. “Wouldn’t happen to know where we are?” He asked casually.
Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

The Orion was of pretty average size for a male of his species and he gave Ducante a slight glare. He knew what a tricorder was. He looked around. “Scan me if you wish. We are on on a lower level than I was on before. The explosion… I was falling.” He looked at Ducante. “I was in a locked room. Where were you, Starfleet?” he asked suspiciously.

A quick scan revealed two broken ribs and a hairline fracture of his right femur, along with multiple contusions. But aside from the obvious ones from the fall, there were signs of bruises that were older.

From somewhere possibly not too far away came the sound of someone calling out, but it was hard to make out the words.

~Mischief Maker

‘I was being escorted with the rest of my ship’s away team to a crashed federation ship site, our ship was tasked with finding out what they were doing out here. The explosion happened and I fell away from the team, and have no idea where I am now.” Lt. Ducante responds as he takes a medical wrap from his bag and tightly wraps it around the andorian’s ribs. “This may feel a little uncomfortable, but the compression will help the ribs stay in place and heal.” He explained what he was doing.

Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

OOC: I’ll allow the wrap, but keep in mind you fell two two levels. It’s unlikely you’ll have whole kits of stuff on you, especially since I haven’t found mention of you having it beforehand. ;)
IC:

The Orion winced but nodded. “Thanks. And where we are is down. Sublevel 1.” He looked around before setting his gaze on Ducante again. “I was one level above us. It’s where they keep their prisoners.”

He took a step, moving over a piece of debris, wincing as he did so. “We have to get out of here before they find us.”

~Mischief Maker

OOC: I probably didn’t say I had it, I just kinda thought there would be some sort of security emergency use away kit I would carry (I play STO too much lol) and that some basic medical stuff would be in it in case of emergency.

IC:
“Prisoners? I don’t remember the meetings saying there was a prison here.” Ducante answered. Lt. Ducante then helps him stand and helps him walk forward. “Do you know your way around enough to get us out of here?” He asked.

Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

OOC: I would expect a med kit to still be on the shuttle, not in hand. Not given your role on this away team for this particular mission. So I’ll allow the wrap and the tricorder, but nothing further.
IC:
The Orion snorted. “It’s not a prison, but that doesn’t mean they don’t hold people here.” He winced as Ducante helped him stand. “I know this place, yes.” His eyes scanned through the dim space and pointed. “With the explosion taking out that section, we need to go this way,” he said, pointing towards a corridor ahead.

Holding the Orion steady took energy for Ducante and Owen felt that effort more keenly than he might have expected.

~Mischief Maker

With more effort than he was expecting, they started moving toward the corridor he pointed to. He thought he heard someone calling out from the distance while he was treating the Orion, he was hoping his crewmates had finally found him, but he wasn’t sure if it was them or someone else, or if he was imagining the sound altogether.
Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

They could hear voices again, and it sounded like someone was not all that far away.

The Orion struggled but pushed through the pain with small grunts as they navigated the debris towards a slightly calmer corridor.

~Mischief Maker

Lt. Ducante checked around as quick as he could. “My phaser, probably should have that out, just in case. It’ll be set to stun, so it won’t hurt anyone, if we have to use it, but did it fall off me when I fell down here, or am I just not feeling it for some reason? I hope it didn’t fall off.”

(OOC:for reference, I’m going off the TNG phaser I had as a kid, that had a holder you put on your belt, and it would sit in the holder, but also had a clip attached to the underside of the phaser so you could clip it directly to the belt if you didn’t want your kid to use the holder.)
Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

While he did still have his phaser, the fall was significant and there were small signs of damage. It might work as expected, but it also might not.
