Stowing away what few things she had that she wouldn’t or couldn’t replicate, Ela stepped back out, securing the space behind her and headed back for the turbolifts. Where to next…? Try to hunt down the deck officer or the Chief of the Watch, or head down to Sickbay 1?

((bump, if anybody’s interested. If not, I’ll tie this off.))
Lt., j.g. Dain, Doctor
As she waited for the turbo lift to arrive, a shadow fell across the closed door… and her. Odd, as there was no sun or clouds inside a starship. “Hi.” a deep rumble of a voice said from behind her.
The figure behind her was… large. Her first look at them was center-chest, and the chest was wider than her shoulders. It was also clothed in the gold uniform of the Operations division. There were Commander pips on the collar, and atop the gold uniform was a hairless, emerald green head with a friendly smile. “You must be one of our new arrivals; nice to meet you. Commander Daggum Hammor, Chief Engineer. And you are?” he asked and extended a green hand towards her.
Hammor, CE
Ela took an involuntary step back, if nothing else to survey the top of Mount Jolly Green Giant. Her eyes went wide at the sheer size and scope of the man. Then her ears caught up as she realized he was speaking. It took a second to process, and almost as long to realize she was both blocking the way and handn’t responded. And he had his hand out for a shake. “Uh, E-Ela,” she stammered, then seemed to shake it off. He wasn’t the first Orion she’d met. Nor the first big guy either. But he looked large enough and powerful enough to fight a Klingon in hand to hand and win. Or maybe a gorilla.
“Sorry, sir,” she said taking the proffered hand. Please don’t crush it, please don’t crush it, please don’t crush it. Her own grip was firm enough for a woman of her size and stature. Soft, perhaps a bit cool. “Lieutenant, junior grade, Elara Dain. I’m a medical doctor, here to support and supplement the current medical staff. Rotated over from the U.S.S. Valkyrie.”
Lt., j.g. Dain, Doctor
His grip was surprisingly gentle; as if he was very much conscious of his grip. He shook her hand twice and then let go. He smiled and said ” Nice to meet ya. Welcome aboard. You finding everything ok? And have you met the CMO yet?”
Hammor, CE
Her grip was firm for a woman of her stature. Relief washed over her as he returned the shake gently, but she could still feel the power in that paw. Hands of a worker, as one would expect for the Chief Engineer. Her own was softer, and cool to the touch but not icy cold. Hand released, she flexed it a bit before stuffing it away. “So far. I’ve been here maybe ten minutes. And I figured that was my next stop, Sickbay. Gotta go meet the boss and all that. Sir.” She shrugged one shoulder, head tilted to the side, flashing her spots a little. “I know this ship has two primary Sickbays and a secondary one right next to engineering. So … I imagine I might be down there a lot.” She leaned back against the turbolift bulkhead. “Anyone that’s particularly accident prone or a frequent flyer I should know about?”
