They had been planning this day for awhile and she had delayed bringing the system online multiple times in the last few weeks, wanting to make sure nothing was forgotten or missed.

Today though, Calloway was ready and she had notified the captain that they were to good go this afternoon

At 1416 hours, Faye’s voice came through the comm. =/\=Calloway to the Bridge. Engineering is on the comm with me. We’re ready to bring Phase One of the new system online on your mark. It won’t look like much has happened on your end, but if all goes well we’ll proceed to Phase Two.=/\=

Orvos looked over some readouts on his captain’s console as he replied, =/\=Everything appears clear up here. Proceed when when ready.=/\=

Looking about the bridge, he added, “Look alive everyone! This should go without incident, so let’s make sure that happens.”

Faye had been exceptionally diligent in her duties. Orvos was a natural ‘outside looking in’ type of person. Seeing her project come to fruition gave him a sense of pride. Having her on the Athena was truly beneficial for the crew. Stark would always be a close friend, but Faye seemed to take on the challenges that came with the role well enough. Now, it was time to see it all come to life.

Faye tied in her channel with Dag to the open one with Legen on the bridge. =/\=Engineering, Bridge, we’re all on together and set to go. Initiating Phase 1. Don’t expect much on your end, not even blinky lights.=/\=

Her fingers flew for several seconds. All that others would hear over the comm was the almost pulsing chirps from the computer console as she initialized the system.

For Calloway and her intense focus, the time felt like nothing, though it might have felt like it was stretching out for everyone else.

Finally, she spoke again. =/\=Phase One complete. All systems stable. Engineering, moving to Phase Two as planned. Watch the output on the Tertiary Computer Core redundancies. We’ve corrected that odd flux the simulations brought up, but I don’t want to count on that.=/\=
