Harrrison stopped just short of the sickbay doors to check one last time that his shiny new lt. cmdr. pips were in place.

Stepping forward the doors swooshed open before him and then swooshed closed again after he entered. He whistled softly at the massive medical center before him and thought to himself, I’ve seen hospitals smaller than this.

The new Ops Chief stepped up to the reception desk and smiled as he was greeted.

“Yes commander, how may I help you this morning,” the nurse asked.

Good morning, nurse. I’m the ships new Chief of Operation, Lt. Cmdr. Callahan. Checking in for my boarding physical.”

She tapped out a few commands on the computer and replied, “Yes, sir, there you are. If you’ll just take a seat, one of our doctors will be with you shortly . . .”

Callahan nodded, thanked her, took a seat, and patiently waited. . . .

A tall man in his early forties approached. He wore a white coat over his medical uniform, with two pips on his collar. He was reading on a PaDD “Commander Callahan” He said in a soft Scottish Brogue “I’m Doctor Benjamin Grey, Chief Medical officer” He introduced himself, and gave Callahan a polite if clinical smile “Please come with me and have a seat on one of our biobeds”

“A pleasure, Dr. Grey.”

IC: Harrison strode over and sat down on the nearest biobed.

“I’m pretty healthy, Doc, but my blood pressure does tend to run a bit low sometimes. It takes a lot to get me riled up.

Benjamin pulled out a tricorder from a coat pocket and flipped it open ,then pulled the scanning wand from its holster “Does your low blood pressure come with any symptoms, or is it simply your body’s standard BP?” He asked as he waved the wand methodically.

“Nausea. Sometimes when I stand up, I immediately feel my last meal coming up. When I sit back down, it usually goes away within a couple of seconds. I take a low dose of Lectrazine on a weekly basis. That usually does the trick.”
