They were finally a go to bring the new system online. After weeks of wrestling with getting the local UHPAVS system to play nicely with her custom coded and designed system, Faye confirmed first thing this morning that they would be good to go today.

Later in the afternoon, just aft 1400 hours, Faye’s voice came through. =/\=Calloway to Engineering. Phase One ready to go. Going to connect us to the bridge and we’ll adjust everything as we go. Hope you ready to be done rewiring and recoding, because I certainly am,=/\= she said with a laugh.

The crew had gotten accustomed to seeing Dawson in civilian garb. He wasn’t overly casual. But he also didn’t don the classic starfleet uniform. He was, after all, retired…according to his file. Just a liason here. Extra pair of hands. Extra set of eyes. El Aurian wisdom. You know, the package deal.

Few paid him any attention outside of the occasional glance. He strolled in with confidence. He was a part of Faye’s team. And he felt he might be of use in Engineering. Did he have any real reason for the feeling? Probably not. But he had learned to trust his gut, even if things didn’t pan the way he expected.

He stood still and watched the busy work in Engineering, paying particular attention to wherever he might find the Chief Engineer.
