Harrrison stopped just short of the sickbay doors to check one last time that his shiny new lt. cmdr. pips were in place.

Stepping forward the doors swooshed open before him and then swooshed closed again after he entered. He whistled softly at the massive medical center before him and thought to himself, I’ve seen hospitals smaller than this.

The new Ops Chief stepped up to the reception desk and smiled as he was greeted.

“Yes commander, how may I help you this morning,” the nurse asked.

Good morning, nurse. I’m the ships new Chief of Operation, Lt. Cmdr. Callahan. Checking in for my boarding physical.”

She tapped out a few commands on the computer and replied, “Yes, sir, there you are. If you’ll just take a seat, one of our doctors will be with you shortly . . .”

Callahan nodded, thanked her, took a seat, and patiently waited. . . .
