Tyler slowed his steps as he neared the counselor’s office, the soft whir of the turbolift already behind him. He tugged gently at the cuff of his sleeve, a small fidget for nerves he’d never admit to. Physical exams were one thing — straightforward, measurable. Talking, though… that was different. He’d come to terms with his condition, at least on the surface. But dragging it out into the open, laying it bare in front of someone else, never sat comfortably with him.
Pausing outside the counselor’s door, he took in a breath and exhaled slowly through his nose. His finger brushed the chime, and a muted tone rang out in the quiet corridor.
For a moment, he stood there, arms folded loosely across his chest, eyes fixed on the floor. When the door opened, he’d have to face it — and that thought alone made his heart beat just a touch faster.

OOC: Don’t forget that the Mythology-spec has a whole counselling department and so the set-up is a little different than usual, so I’ll just wave a magic wand and we’ll carry on. :)
IC:
The Counselling Suite comprised of six offices, so when he approached the door, it simply slid open to admit him into the half-moon shaped space. Each of the six offices had a different coloured door and in the middle of the space was a curved reception desk. The usual receptionist was on break, and one of the other assistants was at the desk. Along the wall where Wells entered were a few chairs of different sizes where crew members could wait for appointments.A female Risian with long blond hair pulled back into a ponytail was standing with a dark haired male petty officer, both in blue uniforms. He smiled at Tyler but it was the Risian who greeted him. “Good day, how can we help you?” she said.

OOC: My bad! It’s been so long since I’ve been here I forgot the layout!

“Oh hello,” Tyler said a bit nervously. “I’m a new crew member on board and I wanted to come for my initial evaluation. Is there someone available who could see me?”Even though he flashed a smile and his posture exuded confidence, there was still a sense of anxiety coming from him.

Cherry smiled. “Of course. What’s your name so I can pull up your file?”
“Tyler,” He said. “Tyler Michael Wells.”
“Doctor Kingston is handling walks-ins. I’ll just give her a heads up.” The Risian moved over to the red door in the middle, poked her head in and then returned to Tyler after a few moments. “You can go on in.”
Tyler flashed a smile. “Thanks. You’ve been a delight.” Then he moved towards the door to the office.
Through the red door, Janna’s office was a modest space rather fitting the petite woman. She didn’t go to great lengths to decorate, but it was definitely more than the standard grey furniture and carpet. On the wall above the couch was an image of a forest scene that could be almost anywhere and the standard grey slim arm chairs had been replaced with softer larger armchairs in a dark blue that looked inviting to curl up into. On top of the standard carpet, the sitting area was covered in a plush rug in different shades of blue. On the other side of the room where she mostly worked, there was a tall leafy plant near her desk and a single silver photo frame on the corner of the desk where she could easily see it when she worked at the computer terminal. Overall, the place was warm but practical and uncluttered- much like Janna.
The petite psychologist was getting up from her desk in anticipation of her new arrival. As Tyler entered, she smiled, her grass green eyes vivid. “Come on and and have a seat. Can I get you anything from the replicator?” Kingston asked.

Tyler stepped into the office with a half-smile, taking in the décor as though he were appraising it. The forest painting earned a flicker of appreciation, the plush rug a quick glance down before he shifted his attention back to the petite psychologist.
“Doctor Kingston,” he said smoothly, inclining his head as though greeting an old acquaintance rather than walking into a counselor’s office. “You have a lovely office setup here.” A soft chuckle escaped, though his hand brushed across his jacket as if to steady himself before he lowered into one of the armchairs.
Remembering her offer for something from the replicator, Tyler shook his head lightly. “I’m fine, thank you.” He leaned back, draping an arm on the chair in that effortless way that made him look more comfortable than he felt.
“I’m new to the ship,” he added, tone casual, as if this were small talk. “Figured I’d come in for the initial evaluation… get the paperwork nice and tidy before I start stepping on toes.” His smile lingered, but there was a faint tightness around the eyes, a guardedness with a hint of the weight of the toll his memory loss has taken on his life.
