With a shimmer of energized particles arriving, coalescing the entire away team plus attending medical personnel appeared in the main open floor area of sickbay.

Serena Stone lay unconscious, bleeding, targeted onto one of the biobeds with Doctors Grey and Bailey next to her. The rest were away from most of the equipment. Smoke curling still from her uniform. Large chunks of jagged, twisted metal jutting from her legs obscenely. Blood pooling and spreading beneath her already.

Elara was already rushing over with a cart of medical equipment meant for stabilizing Tier One trauma patients, a crash cart on steroids. “Oh not good,” she said, worry in her eyes. “Rena, you owe me, again.” Without waiting, she loaded a hypo with a cocktail of pain-relievers and anti-biotics, then sprayed a local coagulant over the most immediate and apparent wounds she could see. =^=Privacy screen.=^=

A permeable translucent forcefield snapped into place. “We’re going to have to get her out of this uniform. It’s melted on.”

Adrenaline pumping through her body and her new empathy attuned to everyone in the space, Janna stepped backwards and just stared at what the doctors were doing… and her friend. She couldn’t look away, as if doing so might mean something would happen. But if she was watching Serena, then Serena was still there. There was a chance.

Ben stood up and tossed off his coat “Cloth scissors and a laser scalpel. Get me an XO blood package, prepare for a transfusion, get the machine ready” He was busy cleaning his hands as an NE helped him into the surgical scrubs “And remind me to bash that transporter chief across the head” There was no humor in his voice “Somebody read off the Biobed information” Anyone who’d known Ben for some time knew that he was in a foul mood, his threat of bashing the transporter chief was a legitimate concern.
