Stark seemed genuinely moved by that, “I’d appreciate that greatly” he said sincerely, “Short of the Borg Queen, Laraan’s mother gives me a serious case of the “wish I was anywhere else in the universe” disease”.
“And again, last I recall, I was the one who was face-to-face with said Borg Queen,” Ghubari said with a smirk. “Not that your intended gallantry has ever been forgotten.”
“As to the chair, I’ll pass thanks, I like to pace and when I’m not pacing all I need is a flat surface in a nice safe corner. Now if you all wouldn’t mind I’m going to shut my eyes so that they’ll stop screaming at me for keeping them open”. He curled up and his tail started to twitch rhythmically, to heart beat or pain was anybodies guess.

“Rest well, ndugu,” Ghubari said gently, before gesturing to the CMO’s office. “Come on Ben, how about I fill you in a bit more where we can talk without disturbing anyone?”

Ben’s face made for quite the amusing sight, narrow eyes, open mouth and raised eyebrows. He shook his head and let out a slight sigh “Yes, of course,” He moved into his office. The assistant had placed the uniform on his desk, Benjamin sighed as he took a seat in his chair “Apologies Captain, I had planned to get some rest before receiving the call here.” He crossed his legs and looked up at the Captain “I’m not certain I have it in me to stand any longer”

“I won’t keep you too long then,” she said with an understanding nod. Ghubari gestured with a thumb towards his door. “And, uh, that by the way is what happens when your family, chosen or other wise, with a man who was once your first officer. Things get… interesting.”
“Now, I need to borrow your terminal for a moment, if I may?” she said, pointing to the computer on his desk. “I’m going to summon the person who can help Laraan.”
Leaning forward, Ghubari turned it towards herself and logged in with her credentials and accessed communications. She quickly composed a message and sent it off to Heel, where she knew that wherever Laraan’s mother was, it would reach quickly. This took only a couple minutes to write and send, though she knew it would take time to circulate and for the liveship to be able to meet them. Finally, she looked up at Ben. “So, remember that whole thing with my regenerated leg?”
“Well, one of the three people who preformed that astonishing task was Laraan’s mother, who exists in a symbiotic relationship to a Heleen vessel. It’s… complicated, but her channelling abilities are significant. I got my leg back as a thank you, a political exchange, if you will. I am known to them and while I don’t think you could call it calling in a favour, it’s quite specific in Laraan’s file to contact her mother. I just simply used the upper channels I have access to to speed up the contact process.”

Captain Ghubari Koraia. Thank you for calling me came the gentle thought at the same time to Ghubari.
