He inhaled the delicious smells deeply. “Oh my.” he just voiced and followed her lead, taking a plate.

“Eat up… no one is shy in here. I promise.” She helped herself to the Alfredo and Klingon fruit and snatched a piece of pie as she watched him with a smile on her face.

Karina

As if in trance, he filled his plate and kept filling it, until he realized he had to get another one… afterwards. He took a bit of everything, the second plate would be filled with desserts, but he just needed to taste it all. With a wide smile he carried his plate to the same table as Karina and settled down, facing her, looking like a child that had just received a huge ice cream, which was unusual for a man who had the first streaks of grey interwoven in his short black locks at his temples.

“This ship is like a luxury cruiser, I think I’ll need to step up my workout sessions.” he said to Karina and his oddly mismatched eyes sparkled.

Karina smiled and watched him eat. “Well, as a Doctor I can recommend a good regimen if you wish. And,” she grinned and winked at him, “as a fellow coworker, I am more than happy to supervise while you do it. Or, perhaps I’ll join you.” She laughed and reached over to grab a small piece of cucumber off the side of his plate and popped it in her mouth.

“But I warn you, Dr. Grey would probably kill us both if we became lethargic sloths. On the plus side, the newness of the fresh cooked food ‘does’ eventually wane off. So I doubt you are at risk of overeating like this,” she pointed to his plate he was shoveling from, “for very long.”

She laughed as she dug into her own bowl and plate. She remembered her first fresh meal on a ship. Like mana from heaven, it had made her sick from overstuffing herself. But in time it had become like anything else… in time, in proportion.

Karina

“Well hello there,” a pleasant and cheerful voice sounded from off to their sides. A blonde haired woman appeared, smiling at the pair.

“Do you mind if I join you?” Kaylee asked, looking back and forth between them. In her hand she held a large mug slowly emitting wafts of steam.

Julien looked up at the newcomer and recognized her immediately from her file. Kaylee Baxter, CDO. He couldn’t help to admire her beauty. Where Karina had green eyes and auburn hair, Kaylee was blond and her eyes piercingly blue… but she was senior staff. Good thing his mouth was currently full anyhow, so he just nodded and then looked down to his food again.

Karina smiled at the woman and glanced at her companion. Seeing him nod, she smiled and did the same. “Please… do join us. Julien Smith, meet Kaylee Baxter.” She glanced at Kaylee, “Julien is one of our newest doctors.” She let the two of them get acquainted as she took another bite.

Yep, now he knew what he needed Orvos for. He needed a solution for these kind of situations. As it was he had one, it was just really uncomfortable for himself. He was still chewing and used the time until he had no more excuse not to talk to trigger his internal toxin routine. Ever since the mission with the aliens that fought with toxin he had a subroutine that slowed down his digestive system, started to filter what went into his blood stream and triggered an eject of his belly contents.
He supressed a sigh. All this good food. But he could always have more tomorrow.
Immediately he started to feel ill, his skin lost colour and he started to sweat. His belly made a loud growning sound. He swallowed and clapped his hand over his mouth, suppressing a burb. Yes he definetly needed an easier solution for this situation.

He knew Karina would recognise the symptoms immediatelly and would be able to convey what was visibly happening to him to Kaylee. He got up, his eyes wide.
“M srry, pls excusme” he mumbled and fled, walking fast. The food wanted out again and he had to hurry to get to the next loo.
