Lt. Ducante walked to the office of the new Chief Tactical Officer. He knew they would both be working hand in hand with each other so he wanted to extend his welcome to the ship. He arrived at the office door, and it beeped to let the CTO know he was there.
Lt. Ducante, Chief of Security

The Lieutenant heard the chime go off and was very shocked. He had then stood up and replied. “Enter!” Came from the door.

Lt. Ducante walked into the office. “Hello Lieutenant, I saw you arrive a few days ago, and so I wanted to come and extend my welcome.” Lt. Ducante stated as he stretched out a hand to the new ship mate.

Liuetnenat Syvak was a little confused as to why his new shipmate had extended his hand. However, he finally concluded. A handshake. He then extended his arm out and shook Lieutenant Ducante’s hand. “Please sit.” He said with a straight expression on his face. Like most Vulcan’s they don’t feel anything and he doesn’t feel anything. He’s used to only Vulcan language and Starfleet language. However, body actions aren’t something he’s used to. “Lieutenant. What would you like to have? Anything to drink, eat?” He offered the Lieutenant.

Lt. Ducante saw the confusion on Lt. Syvak before accepting the handshake. “I apologize, it’s an old human custom to handshake at the meeting of new people.” He stated as he sat down. “I could go for some tea, black with ice, please.” He responded.

“Alright.” He said walking up to the replicator. “Tea, black with ice.” He asked the computer. The replicator had then made the cup of tea. Syvak then grabbed it and handed it to Ducante as he sat down.

“Thank You, Lt.” Lt. Ducante said as he took the tea from Lt. Syvak. He took a sip before asking, “Have you had any time to enjoy the ship since you’ve arrived?”

He glanced at the Lt. Ducante. “Enjoy?” He asked to question. “I’m a Vulcan. Vulcan’s don’t enjoy anything. I’m not sure if you understand but as a Vulcan, our emotions is set inside a bottle so we don’t feel nor enjoy anything.” He said.

“Yes, I know. I guess enjoy was the wrong word. I know most Vulcans don’t have emotions, and are mostly what us humans call “workaholics” so, I’m asking if you’ve had time to explore the ship from a not working standpoint, like a drink at Ten Forward, or something like that.” Lt. Ducante explained.

“To answer your question, have I had the chance to explore the ship from a non-working standpoint? I have not done so. However, I’d love to do it sometime. But I’m unsure if you’d like to show me around.” He said.

“Yes, I knew that. My name is Owen. I’m known as the hunter, a nickname growing up on a cargo ship, I became the head of their security, and helped hunt for our cargo.” He stated.

OOC: it’s alright I get it.

IC: “Well it’s okay. So Owen. How long have you been here on the Athena? I mean yes I am new as the Chief Tactical Officer. But have always wondered what she is like. I’ve read up on the weapon specs on board. I find them very fascinating. However, I find your species very fascinating. However, species doesn’t really matter. It’s what I should know about the ship, her crew and more on these weapons specs. Also, my station on the bridge.” Syvak started to talk.
