Daggum knew the Faye ‘I’m Not Hungry’ moments. She was, well at least her body was, but her mind… that convoluted, complex, mysterious, wonderful mind of hers didn’t register it. So instead of trying to interrupt her, he simply went to the replicator and got her a bowl of fried tofu with a spicy honey glaze and a sandwich of greens, sprouts, and goat cheese. He set the plate next to her terminal and walked back out and pulled out one of his comic books; this one with a fully silvery-metal skinned figure on a surfboard of the same material flying through the cosmos on the cover.

Had there been others observing this scene, they might have been tempted to think Faye was oblivious to her husband. In fact, quite the opposite was true, but her ability to converse was restricted by the fact that she was doing multiple things at the same time. Sure, true multitasking was a myth, but her task switching was so fast that she could seamlessly follow multiple lines of thought at a time. Thus, ten minutes after Daggum set the plates next to her, she snaked her hand out (eyes still on the screen), grabbed the fork and popped a piece of tofu into her mouth.
Daggum saw the subtle movement with his peripheral vision and just smiled as he half watched his wife; half read about the Silver Surfer using the Power Cosmic to stand against Galactus.
About twenty minutes later and at least half the dish, Faye turned to him. “So… we have a lot of pieces all over the place. Wanna see what I’ve been doing?”
“Absolutely.” he said with a smile. He put the comic away and walked over to stand behind her.
On her screen was a visual representation of all events that had happened in real time or in the past linked to a timeline. Each piece could be expanded to view their lead, or the proof. “It’s highly locked down, of course, but honestly I think it will be easier to see patterns or things we’re missing this way.”

“May I?” Daggum asked and then leaned over her shoulder, grazing it with his fingers as he did. He then tapped in a series of surprisingly complex commands in short order. Faye could see comm links coming on line from Daggum’s terminal. “There. Now when my folks sned us updates, they will be tagged by location and time and dropped into the timeline.” He looked at her and smiled. “We make a good team, you and I. Maybe we should get married. Make it official.”

“I don’t know, the people might revolt. I mean _us _ together? Might be too much for people to handle. All this awesomeness in one place all the time. I think that’s how we get black holes,” she deadpanned, at least until she examined his additions to her visual framework and her lips curled into a smile. “Yep, implosions possible.”

“Meh. We’ve dealt with worse.” he said with a grin. “Besides, at least then the good Admiral couldn’t get away.” and he laughed. “So now what? Wait?” he asked.
Daggum
She grinned in his direction before flicking her gaze back to their collaborative effort. “Yeah. It’s going to take a few days at least for anything useful to come through. ” Faye got up with the sandwich and moved over to the sofa where he had been sitting earlier with his comic. Planting her feet on the edge of the coffee table she balanced the plate on her legs and proceeded to eat the sandwich.

Daggum simply sat and watched her eat for a minute. Then he grinned and stood up. He did a wholly fake stretch and said “Man… sitting that long made my back cramp up. I’m gonna go stretch it out.” He lifted his shirt off his body revealing emerald skin, scars, and muscles rippling under flesh. He wadded up the shirt and threw it Faye, hitting her square in the face. “If you want to help… feel free.” and he walked into the bedroom. A moment later, a large pair of shorts sailed into the living room, landing by the table Faye had propped her feet on.

Her brows quirked upwards and Faye smirked. “I don’t know,” she called out, setting down the plate in front of her. “Sounds like it would require a lot of effort. Would this be a reciprocal situation? Not that I can’t do something just to be helpful, but I’m establishing parameters here.”

His voice came from the bedroom… followed by his boxers. “You want to manage expectations? Get in here and manage them, then.”
