Call her strange (and many people did, including herself) but Faye loved crawling through the bowels of a ship. You could tell a lot about a class of vessel by the way they designed their maintenance and access spaces. You could tell what they prioritized, what they valued, how much time they had spent in such spaces. She had to admit that the Mythology-class lived up to it’s luxury status. There was a joke about it being the most armed cruise ship you’d get in Starfleet. There was some truth to that.

She was currently on Deck 43, in Secondary Engineering Supports. That was a fancy way of saying ‘the backup systems’. Faye had a crate she had hauled from her secured area of Cargo Bay 1 (that her husband lovingly set up for her when she first arrived and everyone knew not to touch), and was pulled out tolls and equipment. =/\=Calloway to Hammor. I’m working in Junction 21-Alpha in SES on Deck 43 as discussed. I know you’re attached to my pretty face, so please make sure Lieutenant Qu’in adjusts the power flow down here while I install the new node. Then Sammo can re-route the tertiary flow as we planned.=/\=

She left the comm open since there were a series of responses that would filter through, but she was focused on her work and began to hum. They were half-way through the whole installation process and then Faye and her specialized team would work on the customized software. At least on the Athena it would be an easier process given she could take her base code from the Manhattan and just adjust it to fit the Athena’s spec. At least that was the plan she had devised.

As she worked, her humming continued until actual lyrics could be heard over the comm:

It was a good sign, since Faye usually only felt like music by The Clash when she was in a good mood. Ironic, but true.

Daggum’s voice cut into her revery and he said =/\= You are doing Joe Strummer proud, Commander. But I’ve always been partial to ‘White Man In Hammersmith-Palais’, myself. And you need to adjust your modulation frequency down point-six amps or when the system comes online you risk frying the isolinear grounding brackets. =/\=

OOC: This is sort of an open thread. I figured the CE would jump in, and the new COS still needs to learn about this project, but I am open to someone else jumping in if it makes sense.
