Two days ago, Shock had received the news that his father, who had been diagnosed with the incurable Tuvan syndrome ten years ago, had taken a turn to the worse. Shock’s older brother, Lavel, had called Shock on subspace channels to convey the news. Shock’s father only had up to half a year left, according to the specialists Lavel had spoken to. Shock made the decision to seek to be relieved form his position to tend to his family and be with his father for the last days of his life.

As such, Shock headed to the captain’s office to be relieved. He had booked the appointment with the captain without telling the specifics.

He chimed the door and waited.

– Lt Shock (COS)

OOC: I am afraid I will have to take an extended LOA from the Athena. I’ve become the XO of the Chernov which will require my time more. Moreover, real life is getting much busier than I had anticipated. As such, I am sad to say that I won’t be with you here on a regular basis. But I’ll keep tracking you, dear ship!

OOC: Congratulations on the new position! You’ll do wonderful! I understand how busy things can get, no worries. You are ALWAYS welcome back any time! And if you find the capacity to stay somehow, we’d be happy to keep you aboard friend!

IC: Orvos was awaiting his Chief of Security’s arrival. It was out of the ordinary for the man to make an appointment outside of regular meetings. He was prepared mentally to handle whatever situation was about to arise with grace.

Sensing Shock at the door, Orvos spoke up. “Come in.”
