“Leveling charges already? I love it when you talk dirty.” Daggum said with a grin. He thought for a moment and then said “Okay… so. You need to conceal your DNA from every physical you have ever had. Do we have a commonality to who does those physicals? And do we know who could alter them after the fact? And by ‘we, I of course mean ‘you’.” and he chuckled.

Faye flashed him a grin, loving that he knew she would have gone down the rabbit hole already. “Yes… and no. In fact there are six different physicians over the last twenty years, and the sixth he’s been seeing since he’s been stationed on Earth. Now, I haven’t been able to find conclusive evidence yet, but there are enough similarities in the notes to suggest that either he’s had one person fabricate reports, or he’s gone in and amended things himself. I’m voting the later, because there have been injuries that would have been treated by a doctor on his assignment. There was a pretty nasty concussion when he was a lieutenant and you can’t fake scans like that at the time of. That takes planning and calculation he wasn’t able to do at the time because, well, he was in a coma for three days. So that tells me it was after.” She laced her fingers together and cracked her knuckles. “And wouldn’t you know what his speciality was in his early career, why it was none other than computer engineering.”

“Go figure…” Daggum said with literally no shock at all in his voice. He was silent a moment and then said “You know what would be nice… if the good Admiral was in an accident and was conscious, but needed a blood transfusion. ‘Here you go, sir. Perfect match to your file.’ and watch him flip out.” Daggum was a kind and caring person… most of the time. But there were other times when the mercilessness that helped him stay alive in the gladiatorial pits of Orion showed through.

Faye snorted. “It would make him squirm, but I don’t want to corner him. Not at least until we have all our ducks in a row and we have him in a place he can’t slip out of. He’s an Admiral. We better be damn sure we can make anything stick or we’re screwed.”
~Faye
“We can make it stick with a stapler…” Daggum suggested with a grin. He chuckled and then said “Okay, then… what do we do next? How can we get him into that place?”
Daggum
Her eyes glittered. “Would you say that this is a potential threat to Starfleet security, if not Federation security. Because if so, while I don’t have orders, I am a Senior Intelligence officer and I do have mandates that underpin my work. I am always to follow the path of a threat and report it accordingly.”

Daggum grinned. “An Admiral lying about his ancestry and possible connections to a criminal enterprise? Oh yes… that definitely ticks the ‘threat to security of the Federation’ box.” he said and then looked at his wife.
“Anyone ever tell you you are really sexy when you are being conniving?” he asked and leaned in and kissed her neck.
Daggum
“Hmmm, now that you mention it, no I don’t think you have. Most of the time that just gets me variations of the Callous Calloway moniker I used to have. Or maybe still do. I’m waiting to see how this ship decides to classify me, so I can have the immense pleasure of constantly keeping them on their toes and challenging their expectations.”
Faye turned back to the screen, she pointed. “The way I see it, if he covered his tracks, I can tell by the code. And well, sure, tecnically I’m not supposed to be in there, but it is for the safety of the Federation, after all, right?” she said, looking over her shoulder at Dag.

He sighed that the pass he made at her fell by the wayside as her mind took over and began running with the problem. It was a beautiful mind, though; and he never took it personally. “It is, yes. Plus… doesn’t all of this constitute an investigation? We didn’t open the door ourselves. It was opened for us by one Mallaua Ch’fre, was it not?”
Daggum
“Indeed it was,” Faye agreed. “So…” She rolled her shoulders and wiggled her fingers to warm them up. “Alright, no time like the present.” She flashed him a grin. “It’s been awhile since I’ve done this. I’ve kind of missed it.” Hacking computers wasn’t exactly in her job description, but she had certainly had her opportunities over the years.
Turning fully to face her computer, Faye brought up a secure shell in her specialized hub. It was kept separate from the rest of the Athena’s computer cores out of an abundance of caution given the nature of her work. Her fingers flew over the keys and she accessed the personnel database, pulling the Admiral’s record. She inputted a her security codes so that she could read the confidential portion and got in no problem. Now came the tricky bit. Anything further was going to be out of her purview, but she also knew how the system worked and could push her access to work for the medical file portion of his record by adding some security threat notations. That covered her ass, but the rest would be what it was. Faye pulled up another shell and displayed it on a second screen. She transferred the file over and then meticulously broke down the protections that normally would keep her out. As she went along, the corners of her mouth crept upwards. “I might be enjoying this too much,” she commented to Dag, though her eyes remained focused on her two screens as her fingers moved deftly over the keys.

Daggum watched her work, her eyes flashing with the spark from inside her as she navigated code and protocols almost as fast as a computer would. He smiled as he watched her, there, in her element. He took a breath and said “You and me both.”; although had she been paying attention, it would have been obvious that he wasn’t talking about the work being done… but instead it was who was doing it.
