Marishka thought about what had just been said and realized it would be incredibly hard to put two round tables together. Luckily, that wouldn’t be a problem the way she intended to do it. Standing she smiled and looked around.“You mean like this? Please, everybody’s cuz your chairs back a bit.”
Leaning over slightly she pressed a button in the middle of the table and waited a bit. The top of the table starts to rotate as pie shaped wedged seams begin to show up. The sections spread out leaving gaps but other panels come up to fill those gaps. Once the table stops rotating it has increased to approximately twice its size.
“Now, if we need any more chairs I’m sure Ted and the others can bring them quickly. Think this is big enough?”

Marishka’s trickery impressed Shock. It was an elegant design for the table, and one which was highly functional for the situation.
“It’ll work just fine,” Calloway said, settling her chair back in place and resetting her omelet in front of her. Outwardly, Faye was simply quiet as everyone, including the ensign, settled in at the larger table. Inside she was forcing herself to relax. It wasn’t their fault that her anxiety escalated the larger the group got. At least at this point she knew how to tame it. Mostly. If it wasn’t such a complication, she’d bring Tess with her, but it just wasn’t an option. Her mind was also doing its usual thing of multi-branching thinking. A whole bunch of things had happened in the last few minutes that left her needing to process. She turned to Shock. “I’ve never had Biluochun tea. Where is it from? I grew up with a lot of Vulcan teas that my parent’s friend always had with her, as well as Bajoran deka tea.”

“From Earth, Ms Calloway, by the hills of Lake Tai in the region of the Yangtzee Kiang delta of Asia. I suppose I am not a very good Vulcan when it comes to teas, as I, in fact, prefer the teas of Earth, particularly of the east Asian style, over other teas. Ironic that our tea tastes reciprocal in that way. A human enjoying Vulcan teas, a Vulcan human ones.” Shock spoke softly with a touch of warmth, though his face had, as usual, no expression beyond the normal.

At Marishka’s request, Liam slide back and raised his tray out of the way. He observed the woman press into the center and twist. Promptly the table’s edges extended out almost like a blooming flower. Rather useful, Liam thought.
His legs pulled him back to the edge and he set his tray back down.
“That’s a unique design and I think this is enough room.” He commented, getting comfortable once more.

Marishka looked Liam in the eyes and smiled remembering the time they had spent together and perhaps planning some for later.
“I’m full of surprises. I enjoy showing if you off every once in awhile. This seemed like the perfect opportunity.”
- Marishka
“Unique design indeed.” Haroon agreed. Never before had he seen a table do that before, but it was rather cool in his personal opinion.

Marishka motioned for one of the white stuff to approach and take the young man’s order before she introduced herself.
“Welcome to the parthenon. My name is Marishka and I suppose you could say I run the place. I am glad to see you’ve come to join our impromptu gathering. Please tell the waiter what you would like, I’m pretty certain we can manage to bring you anything you desire.”
- Marishka
As the group grew and there were more unknown people, Faye fell back into observational mode, quelling the discomfort. Would that ever get better? Surely by the time she made captain she could handle social situations better? Well, she could be in them, but producing the expected behaviour was a tricky thing, even if her reactions were for more tempered than they used to be.

At Marishka’s words, Liam’s right eyebrow arched. His form straightened a bit as his curiosity got the better of him. Weighing his coming words, he hated his lacking social skills. He broke the pause with a carefully chosen words.
“I’m sure I can arrange some time off. I need to get out of the lab more.”

Marishka truly enjoyed being who she was sometimes, and this was one of them. She could flirt with anybody on the ship within reason. It was expected of her at this point but sometimes it really meant something.
“Yes, you certainly do. There’s a whole wide Athena just waiting for you when you actually come up to breathe dear soul.”
Her voice was low and sultry and she winked at him.
- Marishka
Liam appreciated the flirting. It was rare, especially due to his shortcomings. He suspected his age didn’t help much with that either.
“Fair point. I should explore it more.” His awareness spiked causing his palms to heat up. The dark liquid bubbled a bit causing a fresh wave of steam to rise. He took notice then chuckled softly. With a light blow to cool, he then took a sip. Perfect, he thought.

“Yes, you must definitely should.”
Marishka nodded and smiled enthusiastically.
“I believe it’s important to know as much as you can about the environment you surround yourself with. It’s especially true if you’re going to be working there day by day don’t you think?”
- Marishka
Faye felt a bit like a fifth wheel at this point and she really had no idea what to contribute to the conversation. The science ensign that jumped into the conversation was now very silent and honestly Faye was too new to know how to interact with the different people on this ship. It took time and she was proud of herself for venturing out to social places, even if she didn’t stay super long. She got credit for that, right? “Well, I probably should be getting back to my office, but thanks for lunch and tea,” Faye said, gathering her dishes.
She gave them all a nod and stepped away to recycle her dishes.

Haroon nodded back. “Later!” He said as she walked away. He too couldn’t think of anything else to contribute, but if he was honest, he was just glad to be there. A year ago and you would have found him still in the lab even if his shift was over.
