Daggum looked over Faye’s shoulder and said “Thank you, Linella. I… we… really appreciate the help. How are you liking the center? How does it feel to be your own person?”

Daggum

Linella gave him a soft smile. ||I know it might be strange to hear, but I never felt like I wasn’t. As I told Faye a long time ago, I was in a bad place in my life and I hadn’t made very good decisions. For me, Ebu Manor was safety. But… I will say it’s very nice to come and go as I please and not have to justify it to anyone… within reason of course. And Paul seems to be a good man. We are working well together so far.||

“You’re not exactly a difficult person to be around, either,” Faye said with a grin.

The Trill laughed. ||*Well, I mellowed as I aged. You think you got yourself into trouble, Faye. Sometime I’ll tell you more about my ill-spent youth.||

Faye beamed at her. “I look forward to it. Anytime.”

Linella nodded and looked to Daggum. ||I’ll let you both know what I find out, but from what you’ve already told me about her, we’re probably going to be looking for someone higher up in the Syndicate to talk to. Whatever I can’t find out, I’ll start a line of Inquiry.||

“Be careful,” Faye said adamantly.

Linella winked at Faye and focused on Daggum entirely. ||And to think people would think Faye is cold…|

“Of the many words I could use to describe my wife, that is not even remotely one of them.” Daggum.said with a smile. “Thanknyiu for your help. And if you need any assistance there, Paul knows what is going on. And he’s more crafty than he let’s on. Handy with a phaser, too.” and he chuckled.

Daggum

Linella nodded. ||I will let Paul know what’s going on, just for safety reasons. If we’re going to go poking about the Syndicate, we best cover our asses and have some contingency plans.|| Linella paused and smirked at both of them. ||And, on the surface I might seem like just a cook, but I’m rather handy with weapons too. Just ask Faye about that one time with the cleaver…|| she said, breaking into a laugh.

||In any case, I’m going to start some inquiries and I will let you know if I get any bites. You two take care and be careful yourselves.||

“We will,” Faye said with a fond smile. “Bye, Linella.”

Linella winked and then the screen went back to its usual standby mode.

Faye turned in the chair to look at Daggum. “Well? What do you think?”

Daggum was silent a moment and then looked at Faye. “I think if we can handle this situation right, we may have our own intelligence network.” and he laughed.

Daggum

Faye snorted. “Wouldn’t that be something. Here’s the woman who’s been Intelligence’s worst nightmare at times, and then she goes and uses everything she’s learned for her own devices.” She pointed her index finger towards the ceiling. “Actually, that sounds about right. What is this galaxy coming to?”
