“I’d say whoever you encountered was likely average in height for my species. I am uncharacteristically small. My parents called me “little bight one” because of my small size, even from birth,” she said with a small chuckle, taking the seat he had gestured to. “No, actually. I’m just here to meet you. Get a feel for the crew and the ship. Does she run well?” Luka asked. “Evidently, your engineering crew consists of a few pranksters, given your… interesting reaction to my appearance. I’m going to have to get the story behind that particular one,” she grinned.

IC: He gave a frustrated snicker before replying. “As for your first question, yes she runs quite well. So long as people do their jobs, the Athena can be a real beauty! As for pranksters, yes I have noticed a some funny business here and there. Comes with the job I suspect. People tend to be intimidated by someone who might know more than them. They try to put the boss in their place every once in awhile if they think they can get away with it.”

Orvos shrugged. “I had been in here earlier working on a coupling when a knock came at the door. Nobody entered so I went to check what was going on, and there before my eyes was a hologram of a great bird like creature that once roamed ancient Earth, back before humans had really made any imprint on the planet. Pterodactyls. Realistically they are quite large, but this one measured to a bit more than your own height. Spooked me at first, but the dimensions were clearly WAY off!”

He moved to the replicator to get a drink. “Would you like a beverage?” he inquired as a steaming cup of oolong tea appeared before him.

“Some tea would be lovely, thanks,” Luka said with a nod. “Just tell the thing to make Recipe Luka 23,” the XO said with a small smile. “Although the foods of Earth and the other Federation Races are pleasant, I’ve always found them to be not quite as good as food from home…”

She shrugged lightly. “Although I only wanted to meet you, we can add a little business to this meeting. What’s your crew like - engineering, specifically. Other than the holographic pterodactyl pranks, of course. Are there any issues, problems you need to talk to the command staff about, things that are going particularly well, complaints, etcetera…?”
