“Well, I am a fan of those you know.” Daggim said. “But I cannot be held responsible for my actions if you put them on. And last time you wore them… well… look where that got us.” and gestured around them and grinned.

Daggum

Faye fluttered her lashes at him. “My dear, are you saying the boots led to your proposal? I mean, I knew they were powerful, but maybe I’ve been underestimating their powere. If so, I might need to see what else they can do for me.”

~Faye

“As long as you are only experimenting on me, feel free.” Daggum said with a grin. “But the second those boots walk out of this cabin, we are going to have a problem.” and he laughed.

Daggum

Faye feigned a pout. “Well, if I left with them on, it would wear something else. I might be a lot of things, but an exhibitionist I am not.”

She rose from her chair and gave him a wicked grin. “You clean up and I’ll go see if the boots still have magical powers.”

~Faye

Daggum watched her rise and he smiled back just as wickedly. “Deal. But if I get this cleaned up before you are ready, you have to wear the boots… and only the boots… whenever we are home.” He was suddenly on his feet and began to almost literally throw things into the recycler.

Daggum

Faye snorted as she disappeared into the bedroom. She was a practical woman and while it was a rather enticing idea to let just let him win this one, it would make it awkward to have company. He didn’t include that addendum and well, an agreement was an agreement. She slipped her clothes off quickly and pulled the boots out of the wardrobe where they were tucked away but still accessible. She got one boot on and then the other and sat on the end of the bed with her legs crossed and her hands planted slightly behind her on the bed, an expectant smile on her face.

~Faye

Daggum wasted no time himself, and it wasn’t seconds after she sat that he walked into the room. He leaned against the doorframe and grinned, his eyes tracing over his wife’s body. “You know, I don’t think I have ever been so happy to lose a contest in my entire life.” and he chuckled. “Nice boots, by the way.”

Daggum

Her eyes were alight as she gazed at him, feeling that familiar flush of pleasure from his approving gaze. “Magic boots, I tell ya. They got me a proposal, what else could they get me?” Faye’s sense of humour was usually on the sarcastic side and not always apparent, but she did have a sense of humour.

~Faye

Daggum grinned and said “Oh… I may a suggestion or two for you could get…” He pushed off the doorframe and walked towards her…

Several hours later…

The incessant chirping of the comms made Daggum groan. “I swear to all the gods… I’m going to find whoever created that noise and run them over with a forklift.” He got up and pulled on his shirt and pants and looked back at Faye. “Coming? You know it’s going to be about dear old mom…”

“Well, I suppose if I must,” she said, despite the swift way she rolled towards the side of the bed and pushed herself up and onto her feet in a swift motion borne of a lot of physical training and the agility provided care of her yoga.

He made his way into the living room and sat down in front of the comm terminal. Activating it, the face of Captain (Retired) Belinda Grogan looked up, a scowl much deeper than the one when she first commed on her face. “That son-of-a-bitch!!!” she yelled. “Giving out Fleet personnel files and locations to known Syndicate operatives?! Who the HELL does he think he is?!” Daggum tried not to smile and made it… mostly. “So I take it you think there is something actionable here?” Grogan nodded and said “Yes.” with a finality that made Daggum start slightly. “I’m gonna nail his p$<ker to my G0$-DAMNED wall!!” She tooka breath and then locked Daggum with a stare. “I want this parasite out of my Star Fleet and inside of a penal cell.” Daggum smiled. “Think we can put my mom in one beside him?” and Grogan grinned wickedly. “Oh, don’t think I was leaving her out.”

Daggum

Daggum didn’t need her to interject but they were also in this together and she knew he’d always welcome her input. “Any way they might squirm out of any of it? And if so, is there anything we can do to prevent that?” she asked, standing behind Dag in one of her slogan t-shirts (this navy blue one said I’ve got a good heart but this mouth… and yoga leggings. She rested a hand on her husband’s shoulder.

~Faye

“Oh… they’ll try.” Grogan said with barely concealed glee. “But I am going to make sure that neither of them breathe a breath of free air for at least as long as I live… and I’m gonna outlive them by a factor of ten, if I have to.” Daggum softly cleared his throat and said “Okay. What do you need from us?” he asked as he set his hand on Faye’s. Grogan said “Right now, I need you keep your mom engaged. Then I’m going to need you to find me someone on Orion that knows the law and you can trust. I know, I know… that’s like asking you to find a virgin in an orgy. But we need someone there to run that side. If we are going to take down Gallren.... and we most certainly are… we need someone to get him to step over the on Orion. Or at least for Orion interests. That will give me the leverage needed to get him in front of a court-martial. And I do so love a good court-martial.”

Grogan

Well… sh!t. Everything else of Daggum’s recent enterprise on Orion had been dealt with by himself or Paul, and they had left Faye out of it. For a lot of really good reasons. This time though, it was a favour she felt she needed to ask. “We have contacts on Orion, and I think we can come up with someone on the legal side who can act as proxy.” The thing about her contacts on Orion was that one had at least partially operated within the law business wise, and the other might not have a lot of status, but she was free now and working for Dag’s project. Linella was an observant and intelligent woman and Faye knew she’d help Faye and Daggum out. Besides, despite a couple messages, they hadn’t actually talked since their visit during their honeymoon and she had to admit that she’d really like to talk with the older Trill woman soon. And if Linella couldn’t hep them, well, between Kodell and Paul, she was sure someone could be found who’d fit the bill.

~Faye

“Get me their info and make the introductions. And do it soon. I want to get on this before they even think they are in someone’s sights.” Grogan said. Daggum looked at Faye and he smiled. “Oh… oh I really want to do this. A corrupt Admiral and a manipulating Orion Syndicate agent? Faye… it’s like the best wedding present ever.” and he laughed.
