Orvos could feel it. The sudden numbing feeling of shock. The whole situation was chaotic and it seemed to only thicken. The feelings to time creating a sense of temporal nausea within him. The feelings of shock at potentially having lost someone close. The nerves of the bridge crew as they hurried to figure out a solution.

The El Aurian captain turned briefly to look at Faye, confirming what his mind already knew. He turned back to the viewscreen and stood up, his mind pushing the distractions aside as he focused intensely on the problem at hand.

The tractor beam was indeed something that could be effecting things. What if?…

“Commander Calloway may be on to something. Ops, the tractor beam, in its current use is speeding up this process it would seem. Maybe we can change that by reversing its polarity.”

Orvos immediately looked to the ops officer as he held back a grimace as his stomach continued churning. “Let’s do it!”

The NE worked his console, obeying the captain’s orders to a T.

If they eyed the measurements of the phenomenon they would observe that its progress did indeed slow.

It was hard to know how time passed when she experienced The Distance and depending on what was going on and what triggered it, her symptoms could differ. This was not an absence this time. Instead, she was aware and there were words spoken around her that her mind processed but she felt like an external observer and everything felt slow. Ironic given they were dealing with time dilations. She looked down at the console next to the XO’s chair and processed the results. “It’s working,” she said, her voice flat, distant.
