Khabal was in the shuttle bay checking on his ship. The scratches along the cleaving plates were almost gone.

“You’re healing nicely.” he said to the ship that gave no response.

“Nanotech?” A man in Engineering gold with a PaDD in one hand asked casually, standing not close but not too far away that he would have to raise his voice to be heard. He was a Bajoran, clearly, and his question appeared more casual than inquisitive.

Khabal looked over at the Bajoran and smiled warmly.

“Yes, a little, but also a lot of HSLA… I mean high strength living alloys. Spiral Nomad ships are a mix or organic and inorganic technologies.”

“Kind of like the Borg but without the Borginess and sleeker, then?” Ros asked but the question sounded rhetorical rather than inquisitive. Wandering towards Khabal he came to a stop and crossed his arms casually, looking at the ship. “I’m not unfamiliar with HSLA, I’ve seen it, or variations of it as I am sure the species that use it probably have their own versions, used on other ships. Your one is healing faster than my limited knowledge would lead me to expect though.”
