“I’ll send a message with a little reminder. That should trigger a call, I’m sure.” he said with a chuckle. A few moments later he looked at Faye and said “All done. Now then… whatever do we do now? Because neither you nor I have work; and there is only so much time I can go without you s-” and the comms chirped. Daggum held up a finger and said “Hold that thought.” He looked at the terminal and then said “Huh. She’s going to call in an hour.” and he looked back at Faye. “We have an hour. Thoughts?” he asked with a gleam in his emerald eyes.

Daggum

Faye laughed. “A whole hour! What a luxury,” she said with a grin. “I have to admit I have been appreciating the fact that we’re keeping the honeymoon going.” She held out a hand. “This time I would like to not be hurriedly through clothes on though, m’kay? We’ll put out best foot forward with the Captain.”

~Faye

Hammor groaned slightly but he said “Fine. Clothes. Looking presentable.” and he reached over and took her hand pulled her firmly against him. “But when this is over we are back to honeymoon dress.” and he kissed her before letting go to head into the bedroom.

She cackled. “If you insist,” Faye said, following him. Gods, married life was great! Stepping into the bedroom, she all but threw herself on the bed, and him.

With time to spare before the good Captain called, Faye ran a brush through her hair. She was back in her slogan t-shirt and she was enjoying the ease in her body. If nothing else, this honeymoon period of their marriage was a great stress relief!

“Ready?” she asked, stepping out into the living area.

~Faye

Daggum was in jeans and a t-shirt with the words “Thanos Was Right” on the chest. He nodded and said “Yep. Let’s do this.” and he sat down at the terminal. Exactly on time, the comms chirped and Daggum answered. A human woman appeared with a stern expression on her face. “Daggum Hammor… Commander now. Congratulations. To say I was surprised by your call is an understatement. To what do I owe the pleasure? You know I am retired, yes?” Daggum nodded and said “Yes ma’am, I do. But I need help for a personal matter, not a Fleet one.” He replayed the situation- again- and when he finished he said “So you can see that we need some assistance. And I thought you could at least point me to someone who could help.”

She was silent for a long moment, lips pursed together and eyes narrowed. Finally she said “The Admiral is… known… to me. It is not an enemy you want to make unless you are really certain that you are on solid footing, Commander. That being said… the fact he still weilds influence pisses me off to no end. Send me the file. If I think you have a case, I’ll tell you and we can discuss next steps. If you don’t, I’ll tell you that too. Either way, we are even. Yes?” Daggum nodded and said “Yes. Thank you, Captain.” She nodded once and the comms went dark. Daggum looked at Faye and said “Well… that was interesting.”

Daggum

Faye snickered. “Hey, you don’t use favours without a little resistance. People rarely like owing anyone anything, after all. But the fact that she knows our dear Admiral is interesting. I like that she’s pissed at his involvement. I think it bodes well. If she thinks we have a case. We might not, but at least we’ll know that we tried, right?”

~Faye

Xaggum rubbed his face with his hands and sexhaled heavily. “Gods, this sucks. Try to do one good thing and the universe just goes and punches you in the biscuits.” He took a deep breath and then slapped his thighs. “Ok. We have Paul working on one hand, the Captain on the other. What else do we need to do right now? I don’t even know what time it is, but I wish we had some of Micah’s moonshine right now.”

Daggum

Faye’s eyes glittered. *It’s nearly 1700 hours. We’ve kept ourselves pretty occupied today, though I think we made excellent use of the fact that we both have the same day off. I suspect that’s going to be a rare thing, us being senior officers and all, and me doing training and taking bridge shifts. Yay for night shifts,” she said.

She eyed her husband. “You know, I tend to collect important things, on the off-chance they might be useful. Micah might have anticipated a need in this regard. So the question is, what would you do for me if I happen to have procured a certain desired beverage?”

~Faye

Daggum’s eyes narrowed and he looked at his wife with a wicked grin. “Faye… wife… have you been holding out on me?” he asked with a grin. He reached out and put his hands on her hips and pulled her towards him. “And as far as what I would do for you?” He nuzzle her neck softly and whispered “I’d do whatever you want. Moonshine or no…”
