Luka stared at the Turbolift walls as the capsule carried her upwards and towards the bridge. Her tail wagged despite her best efforts to keep it still. She smiled slightly to herself. She was still amazed at the similarities between the some of the life-forms on her planet, and those of creatures on earth. Something that had fascinated her particularly was the rabbit, a strange wingless and spineless borkin. What use was a borkin if it couldn’t fly and had no hunting instinct? And those dog things humans had as pets. Strange creatures, they were. And they always barked and growled at her! She wondered if her new captain would be upset about Mukin? Well, only one way to find out, she supposed. But perhaps… it would be best to leave the mentions of Mukin until later.

She closed her eyes for a moment as the turbolift doors slid open, then she stepped onto the bridge. She definitely got a few funny looks as she stepped across the bridge, but she ignored it. They would get used to her presence soon enough. A large hand pressed against the chime, then the alien officer waited for the door the to Captain’s ready room to slide open.

When the door did open, Luka stepped in and took the PaDD from where it was tucked into her belt and handed it over to the Captain. “Captain,” she said, saluting. “I am Commander Luka of Galdor, reporting for duty. I have been assigned to your vessel as Executive Officer. I am now under your command, sir,” she finished, holding her salute until the Captain would inform her to relax her stance. “I am happy to join this ship, Captain, and I will do my best to be the best XO that I can be. My orders from Starfleet Command to report to your ship can be found on this PaDD,” she said, gesturing to the PaDD she had handed to the Captain.
