Kingston’s mouth dropped into a small O. “2399,” she said, forcing herself to speak above a whisper. It explained the odd feeling she’d been having since they discovered the anomaly.

Elena looked similarly stunned at the impossible.

“Okay then, time travel it is. And somehow we can talk to each other. The anomaly might somehow be having our two realities interact somehow, so I don’t know the limitations of what we can do. But I think we should try alerting our crews we’re in this position, if we even can. Shall we try?” She wanted an agreement, just in case there was more going on here.

Elena nodded and reached for her combadge. =/\=Jannson to bridge. I bet whatever is going on there… I can top it. There’s someone from the other ship in my office. She didn’t beam over, she just appeared. And she says they’re from 2399.=/\=

No reply came for ages. =/\=We haven’t detected any additional life signs. Are you positive it’s a crew member of the other ship?=/\=

Bizarre: that’s what this situation was. But Janna was used to that, or should be, and yet she was still stunned. She tapped her commbadge and the familiar chirp was reassuring. =/\=Kingston to Bridge. I’m apparently standing the counsellor’s office on the USS Shai having a very interesting covnersation with my counterpart. You should know that their current year is 2761.=/\=

Shock, accompanied by crewmen Skaarg (a Tellarite man), Rasal (a Coridanite woman), and Zheng Longhua (a human woman), hurried to the counsellors’ offices to find Kingston and see what the status were. As they neared Kingston’s office, they were unsure what they would see once opening the door to her office.

The space in the corridors seemed to… flicker as they drew near. The nearer they got, the more it changed from the familiar USS Athena to another ship altogether.

Shock wasn’t sure what he was expecting, but it was certainly not this – despite what he had heard on the Bridge. All of this seemed illogical, and quantum physics was not his forte.

“Crewman Rasal,” he called out, “What does the tricorder report? Where are we? Any sign of Kingston or any other lifesigns? “

Crewman Rasal’s tricorder showed one lifesign, belonging to Doctor Kingston.

It was a painfully long wait, but as far as Janna was concerned she wasn’t going to rush the happenings on the Bridge, especially since she seemed in no immediate danger. =/\=Understood, Bridge.=/\=

Janna gazed at her counterpart. “If our tractor beam is the cause of us being able to talk, then we should both be able to note some sort of change when it was initiated. Was there anything on your end?”
