Ben poured into both glasses, sliding one across the table and grabbing the other, downing the drink quickly before gently putting it down again “No lass, yer never dressed for drinking, yer either drinking or yer not” His usually suppressed and refined accent was no longer present, his highlander origin becoming more apparent. “yer boss just gave you a drink, the polite thing is to shut up and drink” He said with a half smile and poured himself another drink, this time only taking a small sip “But I digress, I am the same man who went to the surface. Both of me agreed that it was a necessary experience for us to have. I can tell you made a similar decision” He pointed at her injured arm as he crossed his legs.

“I guess I’m not usually drinking,” she gave a half smile and picked up the offered drink. Karina took the glass and downed it as she took a seat, her wounded arm moving to hide under the table. Her hand set the empty glass down as she coughed and shook her head in a soft laugh. “I’m not one to disrespect my superior.” She smiled at his comment of taking a drink because it was offered.” The accent was a wonderful change. She had sensed hints of it, especially when he was upset or excited. But hearing the underlying brogue made her smile. “Well, at least we will know what to do the next time we run into those crazy creatures.” It wasn’t lost on her that alcohol had helped with the injuries. She wondered how much it would heal the internal damage. “I’m glad you are ok, Sir.”

“I’m hoping there won’t be a next time. We ever get a mission that needs medical assistance out of the ship you can go” He said clearly joking. “Thank you Ensign, I’m glad as well” He took another sip “Did you have a problem deciding?”

She laughed at his decision to send her if they had to leave the ship. “I think I need to train more nurses and crewmen to deal with medical emergencies.” She smiled and shook her head at his next question. “Not really, I wanted to stay and my other self was the one who recommended it before I voiced it. She said you would need someone who understood these things in case you chose your other self.”
