Brooklyn Halsey stood at the counselor’s door with a box under her arm. While most Quartermasters sent a comm, Brooklyn tended to postman it. The term was an ancient one. Since the invention of transporters and electronic messages, there was no real need for the door-to-door service in the past; however, it was something she loved to do as part of her job. It was always a good way to get to know the crew. Given time she would be able to shake a box and have a better than average guess about what was inside. Since this was her first delivery and first time meeting the counselor, it would work as an ice breaker since the box had come in and Brooklyn needed to come here anyway.

Reaching out she palmed the controls on the door and waited.

From behind the reception desk, the Risian, Cherry Blossom, poked her head up. “Doctor Kingston is on her lunch break, but she should be back anytime now.”

In fact, Janna had just walked through the doors and the petite psychologist grinned. “Or right on time, depending on how you look at it,” she said was she moved over to the red door, one of six in the office. “Can I help you with something?” she said, tucking a chin length blond curls behind her ear.

“Brooklyn Halsey the new quartermaster and it is more what can I do for you.” Presenting the box she had in her hands, to the counselor she waited for the woman to take it. Halsey had no idea what was in it but it was sitting on the pile for distribution. “I was just squaring things away and saw this. Figured I would play postman to get to know people.”

A confused expression traipsed across Janna’s face as she took the box. Eyeing it, she then smirked. “Well, it came through official channels, so it’s not likely anything hazardous. But I do love a good mystery and I suspect you might too. Shall we find out what it is?” Kingston said, gesturing with her head.
