Her and medical places didn’t usually get along, but Faye Calloway tolerated them. Partly because they were necessary (especially with her issues), but also because no matter what, at least Starfleet ones had led to outcomes where she ended up better than before.

Still, any place that felt too much like a medical facility set her on edge and triggered her anxiety. Thus, Faye did something that was likely not only unorthodox, but likely unwelcome: she brought her service animal. Namely, her cat Tess. The grey and white fluff ball of an empathic feline was nestled in her arms and Tess (a part ragdoll breed that was quite happy being carried around) was looking over Faye’s shoulder as she walked along Deck 12, eyeing the people they passed, who all looked at the cat with a bit of confusion and surprise.

Slipping through the doors, Faye nonchalantly moved past people and beelined for an open biobed that wasn’t next to an occupied one and, with one hand on Tess, slipped up, crossed her legs and settled Tess into her lap, her hands running over the cat from head to tail. Tess showed her appreciation with a low rumble, despite her alert ears indicating she was paying close attention to her person.

The sickbay bustle with activity standard for the time of day so not many disturbed the Intelligence chief but she did receive several raised eyebrows at the feline in her hands. A few moments later a tall thin man with lieutenants pips walked up to her, in discussion with a junior doctor who nodded then ran off at an order from the Lieutenant. “I’m doctor Benjamin Grey, Chief Medical Officer. So which one of you is my patient?” He asked with a smile that seemed mostly pointed towards the cat.
