Daggum tilted his head towards the viewport and said “We’re going to beam down. Since we aren’t staying planet-side and don’t have official business, the Syndicate operators said we just stay in orbit and beam up as we want. If we buy anything, we have to go through the port customs office.” He took a deep breath and then said “So? You ready?” Before Faye could answer, the Captain pulled out a box and said “You’ll be wanting these.” and opened the box. Inside were a matched set of Type II Disruptor pistols. “It’s Orion. If you aren’t armed, that’ll draw more attention than anything else.” and he chuckled. “We have your badges tracking. If you need to get out, just tap and we’ll beam you up. I wouldn’t flash them around, though.” Daggum nodded took a holster, adjusted it around his waist, and deftly slid a pistol into it.

Faye picked up her weapon. “Aww, look at us with matching weaponry. It’s so sweet!” Was she joking? Serious? Who could tell?

But his answer didn’t answer her question and maybe that was just as well. To be honest she wanted to get this over and done with, less her anxiety spike and she did something stupid. “The city of Ahmli it is. I’m assuming you have the coordinates?” she said to the Captain. Faye of course had done a casual inquiry as to Kodell’s whereabouts (which involved only a minor amount of hacking which she was sure if he found out about would only make him laugh) and so Faye knew he still resided in the same manor house that had belonged to his mother. The place she had ‘resided’ at.

The rest of the details she hadn’t needed to know, but since she had been in records, it seemed silly not to look. So she knew that he had married a wealthy Orion woman from a prominent family (even more than his) and they had lived together for some time before they separated but were still legally married. No kids. That had been going on for five years now, so she figured it was an arrangement that suited them both. Mostly it just made her strangely sad for him.

Uggh, no. She was’t going to get emotional! As she holstered her weapon, she bent down and lifted the handle of a tiny blade out of her boot, looked up at Daggum and winked. “Don’t you worry about me, I’m well covered. There’s more where that come from too!” she said as she rose to her feet again.

“Oh, of that I have no doubt.” Daggum said with a chuckle. Soon the yacht was in position and Daggum looked at Faye. “Where to first? Kodell’s place? Or you want to see where I… um… lived?”

“Neither,” she deadpanned before she smirked. “Kodell first and then my anxiety can ratchet down a few notches. Better for everyone I think.”

The two of them walked off the bridge and went to the transporter. Daggum reached over and squeezed her hand and then let go, saying “Let’s do this.” and they shimmered in gold light for a moment and were gone.

Materializing in a residential neighbourhood in Ahmli, the air was pleasant with a light breeze as clouds passed lazily overhead. It was a more temperate area of the planet and because of that many of the more influential and wealthy people of Orion (Syndicate and not) made the region their home. Faye didn’t blame them either. It was lovely and she had benefitted from that during her years here.

Her stormy eyes looked up and down the street and she pointed to the left. “This way,” Faye said softly.

Ten minutes later of silence (at least on Faye’s part), they came to a large manor house set back on a large property enclosed by tall heavy-duty fencing that was only the tip of the security iceberg. But what one could see through the fence at all that wasn’t blocked by greenery was a well landscaped estate. She walked up to the gate, knowing full well that someone was watching their approach to the cream coloured building. Pressing the comm button, she glanced briefly at Daggum with a ‘here we go’ look. “Two guests to see Kodell,” she said simply.

There was a brief pause. “He’s not available currently. Do you have an appointment?”

Faye smirked. “No, but tell him Faye is here to see him. I suspect he’ll find some time.”

“Please wait.”

She looked back at her husband. “Well? anything we should discuss before we go in?” she said knowing there was no way Kodell would refuse her.

Daggum stared straight ahead and said “Nope. But if he makes a pass at you, I will snap him in half.” knowing full well that they were being listened to. “Orion law is pretty clear on that issue, from what I recall. Attempted theft of a female is really looked down on… if you get caught, that is.” and then he looked down at her and gave her a wink that said ‘I’m kidding… kind of.’
