Safely ensconced in his arms, Faye watched as if seeing it new. And she was. She was a different person than every other pervious time she had watched a ship at warp. “There were times I would forget how beautiful being in space could be. Some people fear the darkness of it, the sheer void. But it always felt like opportunity. And this here? It’s moving towards something amazing. I haven’t always been able to say that, so it makes this extra special.”
Turning in his arms, she gazed up at him. “So while we’re en route, we’ve got time to kill. Any ideas?” she said, waggling her brows.

“Oh, I think I can think of a way we could pass the time.” Daggum said with a wicked grin and scooped her up off the floor. “Humans have that carry the bride across the threshold thing, right? No time like the present!” and he quickly carried her through the yacht and into their cabin.
Faye actually giggled as he swept her away. She could get used to being newlyweds.
Two weeks and a few stops later, the ship was only an hour out from Orion. The crew, knowing the nature of the space they were in, walked through the ship and conducted themselves the same… but they were always armed. As they drew near the shocking yellow planet, Daggum was standing near the Captain on the bridge.
It had been a long time since had been back to this place. Same for Faye. But they each had a need to return… to finalize and put to rest pieces of their past. And Daggum knew that until they did, the future would always have a question mark next to it.
“Twenty minutes out, Commander.” the captain said. Daggum nodded and he pressed the comms and said =/\= Hey hun… we’re almost there. =/\=

In their suite, Faye paused mid-stroke, her hand hovering over Tess’ soft and fluffy fur. She reached over the desk where she had been playing her new experimental comms toy and tapped a key. =/\=Understood. Be up in a jiff.=/\=
Tess chirped at her, making Faye grin. “And you my dear have to stay here, but no worries since they all seem to be equally fond of you. And Dag has got this, okay? I’m… not looking forward to it, but it’s something I need to do.” Tess just tilted her head, gazing deeply at her person, as if she somehow understood Faye’s words. Faye scratched the cat’s chin and got up to get ready.
A few minutes later, she studied herself in the mirror. Dark, but not heavy, makeup intensified her eyes and the black-red shade she favoured graced her lips. Her dark brown hair fell in loose waves, rather than the pulled up braid she usually favoured. Grey cargo pants, a dark blue ribbed tank and a black leather jacket gave her that look of causal edginess that would allow her to move about Orion without too much notice. Non-Orions were hardy unusual and she intended to wear the air of ’ Don’t mess with me’ and as she stepped back out in the main space, her heavy boots accentuated this feeling.
A minute after, she strode onto the bridge with a swagger that wasn’t entirely a front. “So, what’ll it be? Who wants to go first?”she said with a gleam of amusement. She was at ease though, the tension that this particular demon hunting had induced having been let go. She was ready for this. Or at least she thought she was.

Daggum tilted his head towards the viewport and said “We’re going to beam down. Since we aren’t staying planet-side and don’t have official business, the Syndicate operators said we just stay in orbit and beam up as we want. If we buy anything, we have to go through the port customs office.” He took a deep breath and then said “So? You ready?” Before Faye could answer, the Captain pulled out a box and said “You’ll be wanting these.” and opened the box. Inside were a matched set of Type II Disruptor pistols. “It’s Orion. If you aren’t armed, that’ll draw more attention than anything else.” and he chuckled. “We have your badges tracking. If you need to get out, just tap and we’ll beam you up. I wouldn’t flash them around, though.” Daggum nodded took a holster, adjusted it around his waist, and deftly slid a pistol into it.
