Idle chit chat with strangers was always awkward for her, though it was easier one-on-one than in larger groups. Still, Faye was akward, no two ways about it, and if she hadn’t been wearing her uniform, today she’d likely be in one of her many slogan t-shirts that said I came, I saw, I made it Awkward.

As they stepped into the lift to got up to their destination, Calloway eyed the XO. “Commander, how much of my file have you read? It’ll be easier to have the conversations we need to if we establish a few things up front.”

Orvos sent the turbolift on its way to the bridge. He could feel its hum through the floor as any engineer would.

Orvos grinned at her question and glanced over at her. “All of it? Well, besides those pesky redacted bits anyway.” He left the statement open so as not be too pushy. If she wanted to address something, she was free to without fear.
