“Well enough,” she said with a smile. “Can I get you something while I’m up?” Janna said, gesturing to the replicator. She sipped on her coffee, taking him in. She wasn’t sure how much she should say and really at this point it wasn’t necessary. Maybe later, or after.

“Oh, no. But thank you!” he replied in kind.

After finishing at the replicator, Janna joined him in the other armchair, crossing her legs at the knee. As she did now, to those that could detect it, there was a tangible energy about Janna. Something that would seem rather familiar to Dawson, even if he couldn’t immediately place it. “So, you’ve had a varied time in recent years. Tell me what brings you to the Athena?”

Dawson could certainly detect something different about her than he had in the past. Something very Orvos-like in nature. How odd?

“Oh, I’m sure you can understand, I’ve been involved in starfleet intelligence for some time now. And even though I’m technically a civilian now, it appears they still need my services. So I suppose you could say they have me on super-secret-mission…stuff. I can’t go into too much detail.”

He paused before adding, “That and I just desperately wanted a little reunion with my good friend, Orvos Legen.” Dawson knew full well he had no reason to mention it, but if what he sensed had anything to do with Orvos, he wanted to know about it. He kept his empathic senses open and his own feelings neutral.

A tiny smile touched the corners of her mouth, though it was hard to hide her expression entirely from her eye, though she did put up at least a little bit of her therapist’s mask even as she knew it was pointless. “Indeed.” How much to say? Hmm, that was a good question. She knew things, but that didn’t mean she had the full picture of everything. At least not yet. “As for the classified parts, things around here necessitate that as the person responsible for the crew’s mental heath, and given the rather intense situation the Athena finds itself in, I can have more clearance than you might think. So I just want to say that if something comes up that requires further clearance, I am happy to seek it should a situation require my skills.” She snorted. “Goodness knows I’ve been knee deep in it for months lately.”
