The blue light drew her in and rather than feelings anxious, it felt right. Reaching for his hand, she gave it a squeeze. “I think it’s been long overdue, don’t you?” she said, tipping her head up to gaze at him. She had come a long way from that moment on the holdeck where she first spoke about Kodell. His power over her had vanished and in fact, she had even looked him up. Mostly out of curiosity, but also because she needed that closure, or knew she needed it.

“Besides, based on this flight path, it’s a quick jaunt from Cios Four and they have an amazing set of hanging gardens. I’m minded to come to the Athena with even more plants than i have already,” Faye said flashing a grin.

Daggum regarded her closely for a moment before simply nodding and saying “Well, our quarters aren’t that big, wife. And I would really hate to spend most of my down time hacking my way through a jungle to get to the refresher.” and he laughed.

Faye held up three fingers. “Yes, some will go in our quarters, but there are three arboretums. I’m sure they don’t hold a candle to the garden I built, but we can spice things up,” she said.

“But first, let the honeymoon extravaganza begin!” Faye said, breaking into a laugh as she turned back to Mal’tek. “I’m ready, if y’all are. I’ve never had a proper vacation before, so I’m curious to see what this looks like.”

Mal’tek inclined his head and said “Absolutely. Let’s get this show on the road.” and he downed his drink and the crew left to prepare for departure.

After they were left alone, Daggum looked at his wife and said “Well… what do you think? I know it’s no crypto-haven on a flagship, but do you think you might be able to rough it with me for a bit?” and he grinned.

Faye laughed and drew closer, slipping her arms around him, though she couldn’t encompass the large man at all. “Well, I mean, I could have lost myself there on the Harbringer for weeks or months, I’d have definitely felt like I was missing something rather important. You do realize that this is the longest we’ll have spent in each other’s company. I just hope we make it to the Athena without wanting to kill each other,” she said with a grin, even with the tiny bit of worry. She knew that her brain could get mixed up and that could make things difficult. Who knew what their time on Orion would dig up too. A hell of a way to end a trip, but somehow fitting for the couple who had done most things backwards. But the thought that he’d somehow come to realize that living with her was too much of a challenge was this unspoken fear, irrational or not, that weighed on her just a tiny bit.

Saggum pulled her closer and said “My love, I traversed billions of kilometers and waited a year just to talk to you. If that doesn’t count for something, I don’t know what will.” and he laughed. “But don’t worry. I have no doubt we will be able to handle this. Besides,we have a lifetime ahead of us to get it right.”
