The big Orion Operations Chief moved through the passageways and the look on his face made sure people moved. He found himself closing in on the Counseling Suites and took a breath. Maybe Janna will be free… I need some perspective. he thought to himself for the fifth time in as many minutes. The call from Faye could not have come at a worse time. He had so much on his plate and that added weight was tipping what he hadn’t realized until now was a precarious balance between giving support and needing a break.

“Hello, Commander.” the receptionist said as he entered the lobby of the CNS offices. “How can I help? I don’t think you-” and Hammor waved them off. “No, I dont have an appointment. But if Jan- er, Lieutenant Kingston is free, I’d like to talk to her if possible. If not, put me down for her next available time, will you please?” His tone was polite and professional… but there was an edge to it that was not normal for him.

The Risian nodded. “She’s currently in a session but should be done shortly. Let me just check to see if she can fit you in. Hold on,” Cherry said, moving from the arc-shaped desk that sat in front of the six counselling offices with the suite behind her set in a mirrored half circle.

A quick knock on the red door, and Cherry poked her head in, speaking in a soft voice. She returned a moment later and smiled. “She’ll be another ten minutes, but she said if you don’t mind waiting, she can fit you in when she’s done.”
